After bidding Rebekah farewell with a kiss, Sabrina stepped into the Forbes home to find Bonnie, Elena, and her sister sprawled on the living room floor amidst scattered bottles of nail polish and beauty magazines.
"Come join us," Caroline beckoned with a smile, motioning for Sabrina to settle beside her older sister.
"Can you guys fill me in on the whole Mikaelson thing?" Sabrina implored, easing into the conversation.
"Sabrina," Caroline started, a hint of reproach in her tone, "way to ruin a carefree night," Bonnie remarked dryly, though her eyes softened with concern.
"No, she deserves to know everything," Elena intervened calmly, offering Sabrina a reassuring smile. As they engaged in their routine girly activities, they recounted the tumultuous saga involving the Mikaelsons, highlighting betrayals that ran deep.
"Can I help with any of this?" Sabrina asked earnestly after absorbing the tale. "I mean, I helped at the start. Mom contributes more than I do." Her voice trembled slightly as she braced herself for their response.
"Sabrina, you're human, and that's dangerous," Bonnie cautioned, her expression serious.
"Elena's human too, Bonnie," Sabrina retorted softly, her eyes pleading. "I can move in and out without anyone noticing. I've lived in your shadows for years; let me help."
"Why were you with Rebekah? It seemed like she knew you," Bonnie probed, her gaze shifting between Sabrina and her sister.
"Yeah, I was wondering about that too," Elena added, her brow furrowing with curiosity.
"She was just trying to compel me for homework, that's all," Sabrina explained, her tone casual yet guarded. The girls nodded in understanding, though none could detect the fake heartbeat she had carefully mastered.
"So, are we planning to take down Mikael and Klaus tomorrow?" Sabrina asked with a surprisingly cheerful tone, injecting a hint of determination into her voice.
"No, Sabrina. You're going to homecoming and keeping us informed if anything comes up," Caroline replied firmly, her gaze unwavering.
Nodding in agreement, Sabrina stumbled up the stairs and sank into bed, her mind racing with thoughts of what might unfold if Klaus met his end. Why were there so many unresolved threads in their story? And what future awaited Rebekah? Surely, they couldn't just let her go, could they?
