The sun had set and the cozy atmosphere in the Mikaelson mansion continued to linger. After a day filled with laughter, Chinese food, and fortune cookies, the trio decided to retire to Klaus’s room for the night. It wasn’t uncommon for them to share a bed, finding comfort in each other’s presence.
Klaus’s bedroom was a testament to his artistic prowess, with paintings adorning every inch of the walls. Many of these were portraits of Sabrina, capturing her in various moods and moments. As they settled into bed, Sabrina found herself in the middle, flanked by Klaus on one side and Rebekah on the other.
“Goodnight, love,” Klaus murmured, his voice soft and soothing.
“Sweet dreams, Sabrina,” Rebekah added, kissing her on the cheek before snuggling closer.
As they drifted off to sleep, Sabrina lay awake for a while, her mind wandering. She glanced around the room, her eyes falling on the numerous paintings Klaus had created of her. Each stroke of paint seemed to capture a part of her soul, reflecting the depth of Klaus’s feelings for her.
Feeling a mix of emotions, Sabrina gently slipped out of the bed, careful not to wake Rebekah and Klaus. She tiptoed to the corner of the room where her phone lay charging. Picking it up, she stared at the screen, debating whether to make the call. She missed Kol, her other soulmate, who was currently on a mission watching over Jeremy Gilbert.
With a deep breath, she dialed Kol’s number. The phone rang a few times before he picked up, his voice instantly bringing a smile to her face.
“Hello, love,” Kol answered, his tone light and cheerful despite the late hour.
“Hey, Kol,” Sabrina replied, her voice soft. “I miss you.”
“I miss you too,” he said. “How are things at home?”
Sabrina glanced back at the bed, where Rebekah and Klaus were still peacefully asleep. “Good. We had a fun day. Rebekah tried Chinese food for the first time, and it was hilarious.”
Kol chuckled. “I can only imagine. How’s Klaus?”
“He’s good. He painted more portraits of me,” she said, her eyes wandering to the walls again. “The room is filled with them.”
“That sounds like Nik,” Kol remarked fondly. “He’s always been expressive in his own unique way.”
Sabrina hesitated for a moment before speaking again. “I wish you were here, Kol. It’s not the same without you.”
There was a pause on the other end before Kol spoke. “I wish I were there too, Sabrina. But I’m doing what I can to protect Jeremy. We all have our roles to play.”
“I know,” Sabrina sighed. “I just… I miss having all of us together. It feels incomplete.”
Kol’s voice softened. “We’ll be together soon, love. And when we are, it’ll be even more special. Just hang in there, alright?”
A tear slipped down Sabrina’s cheek as she nodded, even though he couldn’t see her. “Alright. I love you, Kol.”
“I love you too, Sabrina. Always and forever,” Kol said, his words a comforting promise.
“Always and forever,” she echoed before ending the call.
Sabrina stood there for a moment, staring at her phone. She wiped away her tears and took a deep breath. Despite the sadness of Kol’s absence, she felt a sense of warmth and love from their brief conversation.
She turned back towards the bed, her heart feeling lighter. As she crawled back in, Klaus and Rebekah instinctively moved closer to her, their arms wrapping around her protectively. She nestled herself between them, feeling their warmth and love enveloping her.
Klaus, still half-asleep, mumbled, “Everything alright, love?”
Sabrina smiled, feeling a surge of affection for him. “Yes, Nik. Everything’s alright.”
Rebekah, stirring slightly, tightened her grip around Sabrina’s waist. “Good. Now sleep, we’ve got you.”
Sabrina closed her eyes, feeling the steady rise and fall of their breaths. Despite the challenges they faced and the distance between them and Kol, she knew they would always have each other. In that moment, surrounded by the love of her soulmates, she felt a profound sense of peace.
As she drifted off to sleep, she whispered, “Always and forever,” knowing that their bond was unbreakable. Rebekah and Klaus, even in their sleep, seemed to respond, their arms holding her tighter, as if reaffirming their eternal promise.
And with that, Sabrina let herself be lulled into a deep, restful sleep, cocooned in the love and warmth of her lovers The night was peaceful, and for a while, all was right in their world.
