The house was soon empty and a mess, waiting for the next morning when the cleaners would arrive. After getting out of her dress, Sabrina put on a pair of fresh underwear and one of Nik's long-sleeve shirts with a pair of Rebekah's leggings. Leaving his room and going to Rebekah's, she knocked. The girl answered in her pajamas as well.

"You never knock. What's wrong?" her mate asked worriedly as Sabrina smiled, holding out her hand.

"Our dance, milady," Sabrina asked in a terrible accent that she promised never to do again. They walked down the staircase together.

"Now we don't have music."

"That's fine. I need nothing more," Rebekah interjected with a smile.

Rebekah placed her hands on Sabrina's shoulders as they swayed back and forth. Dancing and swaying, they chatted quietly and laughed. It was truly peaceful until they heard yelling.

"Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah have disrespected our whole name tonight! No violence—that's all I asked!" Esther yelled, waking the entire home. The two girls stayed hidden, listening.

"It won't happen again, Mother. I'll deal with them," Elijah offered, being the noble one as always. Hiding behind the door, Sabrina watched as Esther held a hand to Elijah's face.

"Thank you, Elijah. I wish the others were more like you," she spoke softly, in a forgiving yet mourning tone.

Elijah held her hand and then left the room, catching sight of the two mates hidden. Placing a finger to his lips, he quietly guided them to his room. Passing Finn on the way, Elijah eyed him as Sabrina reached for him.

"Where are you going?" she asked softly, holding his hand.

"To speak with Mother," he said, looking down at her.

"Well, meet me downstairs in a bit for a dance," she smiled, leaning up to kiss his cheek. Leaving the three to Elijah's room, she excused herself.

Earlier in the evening, Sabrina had told Finn to meet her downstairs, eager to make up for the dance they had missed at the ball. As the hours passed, the house grew quieter, and the weight of what had transpired began to settle in Finn’s heart. He stood alone in the grand ballroom, the moonlight casting long, eerie shadows across the room. His thoughts were a tangled mess of regret and sorrow, knowing what he had done and the irreversible consequences it would have.

Sabrina descended the stairs, now dressed in her pajamas, her hair falling gently around her shoulders. Her soft, innocent smile was a sight for sore eyes, and Finn’s heart ached at the sight of her.

"Sabrina," Finn murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "You came."

"Of course," she replied, her smile unwavering. "I couldn’t sleep, and I realized... I missed our dance."

Finn’s heart clenched at her words, a pang of guilt piercing through him. "I’m sorry, Sabrina," he whispered, his voice heavy with remorse. "For everything."

Sabrina approached him with a gentle grace, placing her hands on his cheeks. "Finn, what’s wrong? Is it something with your mother?" she asked, tilting her head to look into his troubled eyes.

"No, I’m just so sorry, Sabrina," he said, his voice breaking. "You never deserved this. You deserved a nice family, a husband, a married life."

"Finn, I can have that with you all. There’s always adoption, and I can marry all of you. It’s really no problem," she smiled, trying to assure him.

"We are bloodthirsty creatures. How long until we hurt you?" Finn’s voice was filled with anguish.

"You won’t," Sabrina said firmly. "I tried to stop you from drinking, but you didn’t. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you."

"From what? Underage drinking?" Sabrina smiled, but then her expression dropped. "What was in the champagne, Finn?" she asked gently, stepping away from him.

"I linked us all. Mother, she did it. I’m so sorry, you weren’t supposed to be harmed, but you... you drank it, and I couldn’t take it away quick enough," Finn’s eyes watered, his voice trembling.

"Why is it bad that we’re linked?" Sabrina whispered, a sense of dread washing over her.

"Because she wants to kill us. I can’t stop it, and when the time comes, I’ll die," Finn confessed, his voice breaking.

"Finn, what has she done to you?" Sabrina screamed, her voice echoing through the empty ballroom. "I don’t like being a vampire, and this is the only way out."

"You’re killing them all, you’re killing me, just because you don’t want to drink a blood bag every few days?" she cried, feeling sick to her stomach.

"It takes place tomorrow. I did and do love you. Thank you for loving me utterly and infinitely," Finn spoke, his voice filled with sorrow. He zoomed to her, kissing her deeply before gently disappearing.

"ESTHER, YOU BITCH!" Sabrina yelled, running up the stairs. "WHERE ARE YOU?" she seethed, causing her other mates to come rushing to her.

"What’s happened?" Klaus asked, holding her as she thrashed away from him.

"Finn and your mother linked us. We’re dying tomorrow," she sobbed, falling to the floor.

"Love, we’ll persevere," Elijah spoke, sinking down and holding her.

"They're gone now," Kol said, running around the home.

"Get some rest, and we’ll solve this," Rebekah spoke, carrying the sobbing girl to the bed.

The four siblings sat on the edge of the bed as Sabrina lay teary-eyed, staring at the ceiling. "This will all be figured out, and we will live," Kol spoke, grasping her hand.

"I know you don’t want to hear this, love, but take my blood," Niklaus said, biting his wrist as she pushed it away.

"Little love, even after our death, it means you will live, even as a vampire. We promised for you never to get hurt," he continued.

"No, with you gone, I don’t want to live, and I don’t want to be a vampire," she cried.

Going to get up, the mates shared a look, holding her down. Holding her breath as long as she could, Sabrina finally accepted it and took a long gulp of Elijah’s blood. "Why did you do that?" she cried, wiping the blood from her mouth.

"We’re sorry, but we will fix this. It’s just an extra precaution," Rebekah spoke tearfully.

"Close your eyes," they whispered, and she followed the instruction. Feeling drained, Sabrina fell asleep, hearing them zoom away into the night, determined to find a solution before it was too late.
