"There's no signal," Elena cried, her voice tinged with panic as she looked at her phone. Sabrina rolled her eyes and walked past her without a word. They had been walking for about 20 minutes when Rebekah finally found them.

"Thank God, love," Rebekah cried, pulling Sabrina into a tight hug.

"Bekah," Sabrina murmured into Rebekah's hair, her voice breaking. "I never got to say goodbye to Nik or Kol," she huffed sadly, sinking down against the cavern wall.

"Love, we're not dying. They'll figure it out. And if not, we get to kill Elena," Rebekah smirked, trying to lighten the mood. Sabrina let out a fake laugh, the sound hollow and devoid of joy.

"It's not fair that I live on without you," Sabrina reasoned, her eyes brimming with tears as Rebekah sat beside her.

"You can live without us. Maybe lead a semi-normal life. We do love you, always and forever, but you do not need us to live. You are gorgeous and perfection just by being yourself," Rebekah smiled, kissing Sabrina's cheek tenderly.

"SABRINA!" Elena's voice echoed through the cavern, cutting through their moment of solace. The two Mikaelsons rolled their eyes in unison.

"Go scare her," Sabrina shooed, and Rebekah stood up, a mischievous glint in her eye. Moments later, Rebekah returned, clutching Elena by the arm and threw her to the ground.

"Taking pictures to inspire your boyfriend?" Rebekah taunted, pulling out Elena's phone. "Why don't you tell them how delightful it is being stuck in a hole with your biggest fan?"

"I guess you think I had this coming, huh?" Elena said, her voice small and defeated. Rebekah put the phone away, her expression turning serious.

"After what I did to you," Elena continued, her voice trembling. "You know, I don't know what I want more—to find out we're saved, or find out it's alright to kill you."

"It better be to be saved, or else Sabrina's dying," Elena bit out, her voice harsh. Sabrina laughed, a cold, bitter sound.

"I'll be a vampire, Elena, and guess who my first feed will be," she gritted, causing Rebekah to smirk.

"This isn't my fault. I didn't know your mom was planning on killing all of you or killing Sabrina," Elena pleaded, her eyes wide with fear.

"Do you think I want to spend what could be my last few hours of life having idle chit-chat with a girl who literally stabbed me in the back?" Rebekah snapped, her voice raw with pain. "When I could be peacefully laying with my brothers and shared mate, away from all of this? But for some reason, everybody wants to bend over backwards to save your life, which is incredibly annoying but makes you the perfect hostage," Rebekah threatened, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "So why don't you sit down and shut up before I ruin everything by ripping your head off," Rebekah boomed, her voice echoing through the cavern. Elena lowered herself down, her body trembling with fear.

Two hours passed in tense silence, Elena staying quiet as the two mates held each other and talked sweetly, their whispered words a balm to their wounded hearts. Suddenly, Sabrina gasped, clutching her stomach in pain. "Bekah," she cried, leaning into her mate. Rebekah lifted Sabrina's shirt, revealing a large, gaping wound.

"Love, no," Rebekah cried, her voice filled with anguish as she watched her own  skin slowly turn gray. Elena watched, her eyes wide with horror and guilt.

"Elena, help me," Sabrina begged, her voice weak. But Elena turned and ran, her footsteps echoing through the tunnels as she left her old friend to die.

Twenty minutes went by, and Sabrina was fading in and out of consciousness. The pain was excruciating, and she could feel her life slipping away. She heard Rebekah cough beside her, and with the last of her strength, she grasped her hand. "Bekah, please, come on," she begged, tears streaming down her face. Rebekah sat up, biting her wrist and pressing it to Sabrina's mouth, forcing her to drink the healing blood. The wound began to close, the color slowly returning to Sabrina's skin.

Rebekah helped her stand, her eyes filled with tears. "Go find Elena," Sabrina gritted, her voice filled with determination. Rebekah kissed her lips softly before zooming away, her figure disappearing into the darkness.

Through the cave tunnels, Sabrina heard Elena's screams echoing back to her. She couldn't help but laugh, a dark, hollow sound that carried her bitterness and pain. She hoped Elena was getting what she deserved. When Rebekah returned, she found Sabrina standing where she had left her, a grim smile on her face.

"We found her," Rebekah said, leading Sabrina to where Elena had been placed in a cove, surrounded by vampire-repelling herbs.

Elijah arrived moments later, his face a mask of determination. He carefully fetched them out of the cove, his eyes lingering on Sabrina with a mixture of relief and sorrow. The weight of their shared pain was palpable, each step heavy with the burden of what they had endured.

As they left the cavern, the reality of their situation set in. The world above was still chaotic, their future uncertain. But for now, they had each other, and that fragile connection was enough to keep them moving forward.

Sabrina clung to Elijah, her heart aching with the memory of their separation. The tears flowed freely, each drop a testament to her love and the pain of almost losing him. Rebekah walked beside them, her expression fierce and protective, a silent promise that she would always be there.

They emerged into the night, the cool air a stark contrast to the oppressive darkness of the cavern. Elijah pulled Sabrina close, his arms wrapping around her in a protective embrace. "We'll get through this, Sabrina," he whispered, his voice filled with quiet resolve. "Together."

Sabrina nodded, her tears mingling with the rain that had started to fall. "Together," she echoed, her voice trembling with emotion. As they stood there, holding each other in the midst of the storm, the love they shared was a beacon of hope in the darkness, a promise that no matter what came next, they would face it together.
