"Come, love," Rebekah spoke, their arms still linked as they walked across the lot towards Damon Salvatore and a redhead. Sabrina glanced at her mate, sensing the tension.

"Look what the cat dragged in," Rebekah growled, her eyes narrowing as she fixed her gaze on the redhead. Sabrina offered a soft smile to the two, trying to diffuse the brewing hostility.

"Easy there, Rebekah. You know she used to beat men for sport," Damon said with a smirk.

"She always was quite common," Rebekah retorted, her tone biting. Sabrina let out a light giggle at the dig, trying to mask her growing unease.

"Rebekah, what a happy surprise. You must be the mate," the redhead, Sage, smirked as Rebekah pulled Sabrina closer to her protectively.

"What are you doing here, Sage?" Rebekah asked, annoyance lacing her words.

"Well, I heard Finn was finally freed from the casket your rage-aholic brother Klaus carted him around in," Sage replied nonchalantly.

"Oh, Finn. You just missed him. He left town and didn't tell us where he was going," Rebekah said with a dismissive wave of her hand.

"He probably went looking for me," Sage stated seriously, causing Rebekah to laugh in her face.

"Or quite possibly, he forgot all about you," Rebekah shot back, her words dripping with disdain.

"I doubt that," Sage retorted, her eyes narrowing.

"Oh, because he didn't seem to mention you cozied up with our mate. Sorry you came all this way for nothing. Have a nice life," Rebekah said sharply, before turning on her heel and strutting away with Sabrina in tow.

As they walked away, Sabrina couldn't help but ask, "So, who the hell is Sage?"

"Finn's old commoner whore," Rebekah spouted, her tone filled with contempt.

Sabrina nodded, absorbing the information. "Do you think they're planning something?" she asked gently, pointing towards Damon and Sage, who were deep in conversation.

"Of course. It wouldn't be Mystic Falls without an enemy," Rebekah replied, taking a sip of lemonade from a nearby table.

Sabrina's mind raced with the implications of Sage's presence. "What do you think they'll do?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rebekah's eyes darkened as she looked back at the pair. "Whatever it is, we'll be ready for them," she declared, her tone fierce.

They walked to the car, Sabrina slipping into the driver’s seat with Rebekah beside her. The ride back to the Mikaelson mansion was filled with tense silence. Rebekah’s grip on the dashboard was tight, her knuckles white. Sabrina reached over and placed a hand on Rebekah’s, offering silent support. Rebekah glanced over, her expression softening just a fraction as she gave Sabrina's hand a squeeze.

Back at the mansion, they found Klaus lounging in the living room, a glass of bourbon in his hand. He looked up as they entered, his eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of their somber expressions.

"What's happened?" he asked, setting his glass down.

"Sage is in town," Rebekah said flatly.

Klaus's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Sage? What does she want?"

"She heard about Finn and came looking for him," Rebekah replied, her voice laced with annoyance.

Klaus let out a bitter laugh. "Of course she did. Finn always had a soft spot for her."

Sabrina, still holding Rebekah’s hand, looked between the two Originals. "Do you think Finn will come back?"

Klaus sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know, love. But if he does, we'll deal with it. For now, we need to focus on Sage and whatever plans she might be cooking up with Damon."

Rebekah nodded in agreement. "We'll be ready for them."

Sabrina, feeling a mix of dread and determination, leaned into Rebekah. "We'll face it together. Always and forever."

"Always and forever," Rebekah and Klaus echoed in unison.

The rest of the evening passed in a haze of strategy discussions and plans. Sabrina listened intently, contributing where she could, but her mind kept drifting back to the paintings in Klaus's art room. The weight of their reality was pressing down on her, but she knew she had to stay strong for her mates.

As the night wore on, Sabrina and Rebekah decided to pay a visit to the Salvatore house. They needed answers, and the best place to start was with Damon and Sage. Sabrina slipped into the driver’s seat again, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the steering wheel. Rebekah’s gaze was fixed out the window, her jaw clenched.

"Do you think they'll tell us anything useful?" Sabrina asked, breaking the tense silence.

"They will if they know what's good for them," Rebekah replied, her tone hard.

When they arrived at the Salvatore house, the tension in the air was palpable. Sabrina parked the car and the two of them made their way to the door. Rebekah didn’t bother knocking; she simply pushed the door open and strode inside, with Sabrina right behind her.

Damon and Sage were in the living room, deep in conversation. They looked up in surprise as Rebekah and Sabrina entered.

"Well, if it isn't the dynamic duo," Damon drawled, a smirk playing on his lips.

"We're not here for pleasantries, Damon," Rebekah snapped. "We want answers."

Sage leaned back in her chair, eyeing Rebekah and Sabrina with a smirk. "And what makes you think we have any answers for you?"

"Don't play coy, Sage," Rebekah retorted. "We know you're up to something, and we want to know what it is."

Damon's smirk faded, replaced by a more serious expression. "We're not planning anything against you, if that's what you're worried about."

"Then why are you and Sage here, plotting together?" Sabrina interjected, her voice filled with suspicion.

Sage exchanged a glance with Damon before answering. "We're trying to find a way to protect ourselves. With the Originals running around, we need to be prepared."

Rebekah's eyes narrowed. "And how do you plan to do that?"

"We're looking for information on the white oak tree," Damon admitted. "It's the only thing that can kill you."

Sabrina's heart sank at the revelation. "So, you are planning something against us."

"Not necessarily," Sage said quickly. "We just want to be prepared in case things go south."

Rebekah stepped closer, her eyes blazing with anger. "You better hope things don’t go south, Sage. Because if they do, you'll have more to worry about than just the white oak tree."

With that, Rebekah grabbed Sabrina's hand and pulled her towards the door. As they left the house, Sabrina couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was about to happen.

"We need to be on guard," she said quietly as they got back into the car.

"We will be," Rebekah replied, her voice steely with determination. "And we'll make sure they regret ever plotting against us."

As they drove back to the mansion, Sabrina's mind raced with thoughts of what was to come. She knew they were in for a battle, but she also knew that with Rebekah and Klaus by her side, they could face anything. Always and forever, they would stand together.
