As Damon, Sage, and Caroline fought, Sabrina felt her life slipping away. With trembling hands, she reached for Elijah's vial, hanging from her locket. Untwisting the cap, she drank the precious liquid, hoping it would save her. As she faded in and out of consciousness, she saw Caroline zoom towards her.
"Snap my neck," Sabrina whispered, her voice barely audible. Caroline hesitated for a moment before doing as she was asked. Sabrina felt a sharp, audible pop, and then darkness.
When Sabrina awoke, she was back at the Mikaelson mansion. The room was eerily silent, filled with an overwhelming sense of grief. As she tried to move, she realized Kol was lying tightly on top of her chest, his presence a comforting weight. She could hear muffled sobs and feel the weight of the emotional storm in the room.
Niklaus and Rebekah were clinging to her, their faces buried in her shoulders. They had cried themselves to sleep. The room bore signs of Niklaus' earlier rage—overturned furniture, shattered glass, and ripped paintings. It was clear he had wrecked the room in his grief.
With renewed strength coursing through her veins, Sabrina gently shifted. Kol stirred, his eyes fluttering open. As soon as he saw her, his eyes widened in disbelief and relief.
"Sabrina?" he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "You’re awake."
Niklaus and Rebekah awoke too, their eyes widening in shock and then filling with tears. Rebekah clung to her, sobbing violently. "We thought we lost you," she cried, shaking Sabrina's body as if to confirm she was really there.
Niklaus gently brushed a tear from Sabrina’s cheek. "We didn’t even hear your heartbeat. We thought you were gone," he said, his voice breaking.
"I’m here," Sabrina assured them, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "But I need... I need blood."
Niklaus nodded, understanding. "I’ll get a blood bag," he said, his voice firm. He quickly left the room and returned moments later with a blood bag.
Sabrina eyed it nervously, the reality of her new existence sinking in. Niklaus handed it to her gently, and she hesitated for a moment before biting into the bag. The blood tasted both strange and familiar, soothing the gnawing hunger within her. She drank deeply, feeling her strength returning with each sip.
As she fed, Kol held her hand, his touch grounding her. "I love you," he whispered, his voice filled with relief and love.
Sabrina squeezed his hand, tears streaming down her face. "I love you too, Kol. Always and forever."
"Always and forever," he echoed, his eyes shining with emotion.
Once she finished the blood bag, she took a deep breath, feeling more like herself. She looked at her mates, their faces a mix of relief and lingering worry. "I saw Elijah," she said softly. "In a dream-like state. He told me to hold on, that it wasn’t my time yet."
Rebekah wiped her tears away, nodding. "Elijah always knows what to say," she whispered.
Niklaus pulled her close, his embrace firm and protective. "We’ll find him, love. We’ll all be together again."
Caroline entered the room, having heard the commotion. Her eyes widened when she saw Sabrina awake and sitting up. "Oh my God, Sabrina!" she exclaimed, rushing to her side. "You’re okay!"
Sabrina smiled weakly. "Thanks to you, Caroline. You saved my life."
Caroline shrugged, trying to downplay her role. "Just doing what any good sister would do. But seriously, don’t ever do that again."
Sabrina chuckled, though it quickly turned into a sob. "I promise. I learned my lesson."
They all fell into a contemplative silence, the weight of the past few days heavy on their shoulders. The emotional toll of almost losing Sabrina had shaken them all deeply.
As the night wore on, exhaustion took over. Sabrina, now a new vampire, felt a renewed sense of purpose. She would protect her family, no matter the cost. The love she felt for them was stronger than ever, a bond that death itself couldn’t break.
Eventually, they all lay down together, seeking comfort in each other’s presence. Sabrina found herself nestled between Rebekah and Niklaus, their arms wrapped protectively around her. Kol lay tightly on top of her chest, his presence a comforting weight.
In her dreams, she saw Elijah once more, his calm presence reassuring her that she was on the right path. They would face whatever came their way together, as a family, bound by love and loyalty.
When she woke up the next morning, Sabrina decided to write a letter to Elijah, updating him on everything that had happened. She poured her heart into the letter, detailing her transformation, her fears, and her unwavering love for her family. She vowed to never lose another loved one again, cherishing the four Mikaelsons who remained.
With a heavy heart and a determined spirit, Sabrina sealed the letter, hoping it would reach Elijah soon. She would continue to fight for her family, honoring the promise of always and forever.
