It was a lazy Sunday afternoon at the Mikaelson mansion. The sun filtered through the grand windows, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. Sabrina was sprawled out on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV, while Niklaus was working on a painting in the corner. Rebekah, ever the restless one, paced around the room, her eyes darting between the television and Niklaus’ artwork.

“Nik, can we do something fun today?” Rebekah finally asked, breaking the silence.

Niklaus put down his paintbrush and looked over at her. “What do you suggest, sister?”

Rebekah paused, thinking. “Well, we could order takeout. I’ve never tried Chinese food before.”

Sabrina sat up, intrigued. “You’ve never had Chinese food? Bekah, you’re in for a treat. Let’s do it!”

Niklaus raised an eyebrow. “Chinese food, you say? Alright, I suppose we can indulge in some takeout for a change.”

Sabrina grabbed her phone and started looking up the best Chinese takeout in Mystic Falls. After a few minutes, she found a place with great reviews and placed an order for a variety of dishes: sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, lo mein, dumplings, and of course, fortune cookies.

While they waited for the food to arrive, Sabrina and Rebekah settled on the couch to watch a movie. Niklaus, who rarely sat still for long, joined them, his curiosity piqued by Rebekah’s excitement.

As the movie played, Sabrina couldn’t help but notice Rebekah’s nervous energy. “Bekah, you okay? You seem a bit antsy.”

Rebekah laughed, slightly embarrassed. “I just can’t believe I’ve never tried Chinese food before. I’ve lived for over a thousand years, and there are still so many things I haven’t experienced.”

Sabrina smiled and took Rebekah’s hand. “Well, today is the day. You’re going to love it.”

A short while later, the doorbell rang, signaling the arrival of their feast. Sabrina jumped up to get the food, leaving Rebekah and Niklaus to set the table in the dining room. As Sabrina carried in the bags, the delicious aroma filled the air, making everyone’s mouth water.

“Alright, here we go!” Sabrina announced, placing the bags on the table. She started unpacking the containers, each one more tantalizing than the last.

Rebekah watched with wide eyes as Sabrina opened the first container. “What’s that one?”

“This is sweet and sour chicken,” Sabrina explained, placing it in front of Rebekah. “And this is beef and broccoli, lo mein, dumplings, and egg rolls.”

Rebekah’s excitement was palpable as she picked up a pair of chopsticks, examining them curiously. “How do you use these?”

Sabrina giggled and demonstrated how to hold the chopsticks properly. “Like this. It takes a bit of practice, but you’ll get the hang of it.”

Rebekah attempted to mimic Sabrina, but the chopsticks slipped from her fingers, clattering onto her plate. “This is harder than it looks,” she muttered, determined to master them.

Niklaus chuckled, easily picking up his chopsticks and deftly grabbing a dumpling. “You’ll get there, Bekah. It just takes a bit of finesse.”

Sabrina couldn’t help but laugh at Rebekah’s serious concentration. “Don’t worry, Bekah. If you can’t get it, you can always use a fork.”

Rebekah huffed, her competitive spirit kicking in. “No, I’ll figure it out.” She tried again, this time managing to pick up a piece of chicken, though it wobbled precariously between the chopsticks.

As they dug into the food, the room was filled with laughter and conversation. Rebekah’s attempts at using chopsticks provided endless entertainment. Every time she successfully picked up a piece of food, she celebrated like she had won a prize.

“Look, I got it!” Rebekah exclaimed triumphantly, holding up a piece of lo mein. But as she brought it to her mouth, it slipped and fell onto the table.

Sabrina and Niklaus burst into laughter, and even Rebekah couldn’t help but join in. “Alright, maybe a fork isn’t such a bad idea,” she conceded, grabbing one from the drawer.

As they continued eating, Sabrina couldn’t help but feel a warm sense of contentment. Despite the chaos and drama that often surrounded them, moments like these made it all worthwhile. Being with Rebekah and Niklaus, sharing new experiences and simply enjoying each other’s company, was a reminder of the love and bond they shared.

After they had finished eating, Sabrina pulled out the fortune cookies, handing one to each of them. “Time for fortunes!”

They cracked open their cookies, reading their fortunes aloud. Rebekah’s read, “A new experience will bring great joy.” She smiled, looking around at her family. “Well, I’d say this has been pretty accurate.”

Niklaus’s fortune read, “Creativity will lead you to new adventures.” He smirked, already thinking about his next painting.

Sabrina’s fortune was simple but poignant: “Happiness is found in the company of loved ones.” She looked at Rebekah and Niklaus, feeling the truth of those words.

The day continued with more laughter, stories, and even a few rounds of charades. By the time the sun set, the Mikaelson mansion was filled with a sense of warmth and togetherness.

As they settled back on the couch, Sabrina nestled between Rebekah and Niklaus, she couldn’t help but feel grateful for these moments of peace and joy. No matter what challenges lay ahead, they had each other, and that was more than enough.

“I love you guys,” Sabrina said softly, looking at both of them.

“We love you too, Sabrina,” Rebekah replied, kissing her on the cheek.

Niklaus nodded, a rare, genuine smile on his face. “Always and forever, love.”

And with that, they settled in for the night, knowing that whatever tomorrow brought, they would face it together.
