Sabrina lay on the cold, damp floor of the dimly lit room, her wrists bound tightly with laced ropes. She could feel the effects of the drug searing through her veins, weakening her but not incapacitating her completely. Damon Salvatore paced in front of her, his face twisted in frustration and impatience.
"You're being stubborn, Sabrina," Damon said, his voice edged with irritation. "Just tell us what we need to know, and we can end this." He really did’nt want to harm the human he used to care for but to save Elena he’d burn the world.
Sabrina clenched her jaw, refusing to give in. She knew the importance of the information they sought—about the Mikaelsons, their plans, anything that could tip the scales in their favor against the Originals. But she couldn't betray them , not like this.
"You're wasting your time," Sage chimed in from across the room, her tone mocking. "She's loyal to those bloodsuckers, through and through."
Sabrina glared at Sage defiantly, her mind racing for a way out. She had to buy time, hoping against hope that Klaus and Rebekah would find her soon.
Hours passed in agonizing silence, broken only by Damon’s occasional taunts and Sage’s attempts to coax information out of her. Sabrina's resolve began to waver as exhaustion and pain threatened to overwhelm her. The drug was taking its toll, draining her strength with each passing moment.
Just as she felt herself slipping into despair, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. The door burst open, revealing Caroline Forbes, her eyes wide with concern and determination.
"Sabrina!" Caroline exclaimed, rushing to kneel beside her sister "I found her! She's here!"
Damon and Sage turned sharply at the intrusion, their expressions shifting from triumph to alarm as Caroline stood protectively in front of Sabrina.
"You shouldn't have come here, Caroline," Damon warned.
Caroline held her ground, her gaze unwavering. "Let her go, Damon. This ends now."
"You can't stop us," Sage sneered, moving closer to Caroline.
Caroline’s eyes flickered with resolve as she reached into her pocket, pulling out a vial of vervain. She tossed it to Damon, who caught it reflexively.
"Try me," Caroline challenged, her voice steady despite the tension in the room.
Damon hesitated, glancing between Caroline and Sabrina. The standoff stretched on for a tense moment before Sage spoke up again, her voice tinged with disdain.
"You're making a mistake, Caroline. She’s already betrayed you by choosing them."
Caroline shot Sage a withering look. "Sabrina’s loyalty is not in question here. But yours is."
Sage lunged forward, aiming for Caroline, but Damon stepped in, holding her back.
"We'll deal with you later," Damon growled at Caroline, his eyes narrowing at Sabrina. "This isn't over."
As Sabrina lay in her unconscious state, suspended between life and the unknown, a poignant conversation unfolded in the ethereal realm between her and Elijah, her soulmate who had mysteriously disappeared weeks earlier.
In the depths of her subconscious, Sabrina found herself standing in a mist-shrouded clearing. The air was heavy with a sense of longing and loss, and there he was—Elijah, his features etched with sorrow and weariness.
"Elijah..." Sabrina breathed his name, her voice barely a whisper but filled with a depth of emotion that transcended words.
Elijah approached slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. "Sabrina," he murmured, his voice tinged with regret. "I'm sorry... I should have been there."
Tears welled in Sabrina's eyes as she reached out to touch his face, the sensation both real and intangible. "Where have you been?" she asked, her voice trembling with a mixture of hope and anguish.
Elijah shook his head, his expression haunted. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice cracking. "One moment I was with you, and the next..."
Sabrina's heart ached at the pain in his voice, knowing all too well the emptiness of his absence. "I've looked everywhere for you," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I thought... I thought I'd lost you."
Elijah closed his eyes briefly, as if struggling to find the right words. "I never wanted to leave you," he confessed, his voice thick with emotion. "I've been trying to find my way back to you."
Unable to hold back her tears any longer, Sabrina stepped closer, wrapping her arms around him in a desperate embrace. "I've missed you so much," she admitted, her voice muffled against his chest.
Elijah held her tightly, his own tears mingling with hers. "I'm here now," he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. "I won't leave you again."
They stood there in the misty clearing, clinging to each other as if afraid the moment would slip away. Time seemed to stand still, the weight of their shared sorrow and love enveloping them in a bittersweet embrace.
"I love you, Sabrina," Elijah murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"And I love you, Elijah," Sabrina replied, her voice filled with a profound sadness that echoed through the depths of her unconscious mind.
As their embrace lingered, a distant echo of reality filtered through the haze, pulling Sabrina reluctantly back to consciousness. The misty clearing and Elijah began to fade, leaving her with a lingering ache in her heart and a renewed sense of loss for the soulmate she longed to find again.
