Raven had slept at tannyhill that night, it felt weird and she had a hard time falling asleep, but when she did it was the best sleep she had gotten since Mexico. Her room was still set up exactly the way it was when her and Rafe left, which was strange to her, but she had come to realize that Ward never really was home.
"Raven," She had just woken up and heard Rafe whispering her name.
"Hm," She hummed in response, coming out more of a groan.
"Someone just woke up," He let out a laugh, coming and laying next to her.
Her arms instantly wrapped around his figure, he didnt realize he was tensed up until he let everything go from her touch. She pulled back and looked at him, an eyebrow raised.
"You okay?" She looked at him with slight concern.
"Yeah, it's just weird being back here," He responded, moving her hair out of her face.
"Yeah, I agree," She whispered, hiding her head in his chest again, "I don't wanna get up."
"Well too bad, you need to," Rafe kissed the top of her head, then moved her arms off of him, getting up.
"Rafe~" Raven whined, then sat up, a smirk on his face.
"It's noon you need to start getting ready," He tilted her chin up, gently kissing her.
"Fine, is Sarah awake?"
"I don't know, nor do I care," He let out a laugh and she rolled her eyes.
"Be nice, Rafael," She smirked, knowing that he hated his full name.
"Don't-" He glared at her, her smirk still stuck on her face, "You're so not funny."
"Oh but I am," She smirked then got out bed.
"She needs to get ready so I need you to get out," Sarah appeared in the doorway, causing Rafe to roll his eyes.
"Hey Raven, she's awake," He snickered and she threw a pillow at him laughing.
"Smartass," She laughed, then sat in front of the floor length mirror.
"This feels odd, we haven't done this in almost a year and a half."
"Yeah I know," Raven whispered, watching Sarah brush her hair, then noticed a green dress on the bathroom door, "Is that mine?"
"Yeah, do you like it?" Sarah smirked and Raven nodded rapidly, "John B actually helped pick it out."
"We'll look at him," Raven let out a small laugh, focused on doing her makeup now while Sarah curled her hair with a flat iron.
"I'm glad you two are better, you used to be so close," Sarah sighed and Raven nodded.
"I'm glad we are too, I felt guilty for being mad at him, but if I wasn't I would probably die from heartbreak," She let out a small laugh, blending her blush.
The two of them talked about everything under the sun, makeup and hair was finished, Raven slipped into her dress. It was flowy but still hugged her in the right areas, a smile beamed on her face.
"Green is definitely your color, holy shit," Sarah gasped, Raven's smile doing but fading.
"Are you guys ready yet?" Rafe groaned from the other side of the door, Sarah rolling her eyes.
"Yes, Rafe," Sarah sighed, walking out of the room to get her shoes.
He walked in, his attention falling on Raven almost immediately, his mouth hanging open a little.
"Holy fuck."
"What?" She smirked, her eyes meeting his gaze.
"You, uhm," He cleared his throat, walking over to her, then kissing her gently.
"my lip stick isn't kiss proof," She laughed, wiping it off of his lips.
"Yeah I don't care," He responded, kissing her again, causing her to smile into the kiss.
"AHEM," Sarah spoke rather loudly, causing them to pull apart, "We gotta go."
"Fine," Rafe huffed, then took Raven's hand, leading her out of the room, down the stairs.
One nice thing about Raven wearing heels was that she almost matched his height, she was still a good six inches short, but it was better than the normal almost eleven.
"Would really like it if you two didn't go and run off somewhere in a closet tonight, for the sole faft of I worked hard on her hair," Sarah laughed.
"I make no promises," Rafe smirked at Raven, causing her to roll her eyes.
"Look at me," Raven moved his face so she could see his lips, then wiped them off, "You had a little something."
"Let people know," He shrugged, opening the car door for her, then got in the back seat behind her.
Sarah drove to the Island Club, getting out quickly when she saw that the Twinkie was there. Rafe had opened Ravens door for her, and she just rolled her eyes again playfully, getting out.
"You don't need to keep doing that," She laughed and he shrugged, then pushed her against the car.
"To bad," He mumbled against her lips, kissing her.
"Can I change my lipstick so you don't keep getting it on you?" She laughed and he nodded, "You need to quit it until I find a mirror then," She had wiped off the lipstick transfer from his lips once again.
They both walked into the Island Club, his arm tightly around her. The second they got in there, she grabbed a tissue then looked in one of the lobby mirrors, wiping off her lipstick and putting on a deep red, transfer proof lipstick, then turned to look at Rafe.
"Can I kiss you now?" He asked, sounding annoyed.
"Mmm no," She smiled innocently at him, then walked out through the back doors where the party was being held, then grabbed a champagne glass.
She felt Rafes arm wrap around her waist again, almost instantly, a smile forming on her face.
"One day, we'll come back, and they'll applaud when we walk in," Rafe whispered and Raven just rolled her eyes.
"Not if I can help it," She smirked and he rolled his eyes, "We won't be doing any of that, because you're not gonna end up like your father."
He looked at her with soft eyes, he always loved when she said that, because it proved she actually had faith in him.
