The two slept through the morning by accident. Rafe had woken up first and quietly started to pack up all of their things, so by the time Raven woke up, they could go. He was proud of himself for the way that he was able to have enough money to support him and Raven both, even if it wasn't fully his money, he was sneaky enough that it technically was. He watched his girlfriend stir in her sleep, as he realized she was upset, probably a bad dream.
"NO," She screamed, jolting herself up, Rafe ending up right by her side.
"Hey, shh, you're okay," He wrapped his arms around her quickly and she placed a hand on one of his arms to stable herself.
Her heartbeat quickly matched his, they synced up and she took a deep breath, instantly calming down.
"That was- awful-" Raven let a tear run down her face and Rafe let out a sympathetic sigh.
"You're okay," He kissed the top of her head, softly rubbing her arm.
"What time is it?" She sighed, rubbing her face.
"Uhm," He pulled out his phone and then put it right back in his pocket, "2:53."
"Oh shit-" Raven let out a small laugh and Rafe just shrugged.
"It's alright, we are in no rush," He kissed her cheek then stood up again, taking the bags out to the car.
She slowly got up and threw a pair of shorts on, then braided her hair quickly so it was out of her face. She walked into the library and got the five bags of journals and took them to the car, putting them in the back seat.
"Well look at you," He smirked, leaning down to kiss her.
"Is that it?" She smiled glancing back towards the house.
"Pretty sure, I'll go take a look just to make sure, get in the car and get comfortable we have a four hour drive ahead of us."
"Okay," She smiled getting in the passenger seat of the car, buckling her seatbelt, then laying the seat back.
Rafe came back to the car, getting in the driver's seat, then handing Raven her phone.
"You left this," He let out a laugh and she made a face.
"WHOOPS," She took it then hooked it up to the AUX cord that was already plugged in from the night before.
She turned on Obsessed by Olivia Rodrigo and Rafe rolled his eyes. She gave him a look and started dramatically dancing to it.
"You're so strange," He shook his head, laughing.
"Well," She searched for a comeback in her head then smirked, "You're dumb."
"Oh? I'm dumb?"
"Yeah, you're dumb," She rolled her eyes playfully.
He just laughed, causing her to grin at him. She just left her playlist run while the two talked to each other, making each other laugh. The four hour drive finally concluded when they drove down a long driveway. She stared at the trees then her attention fell onto a house, the most gorgeous beach house she had ever seen.
"Welcome home, Raven," Rafe whispered to her and she frinned widely.
She got out of the car quickly, then run up to the stairs then stopping, waiting for Rafe to get out of the car. He had opened the car door, standing up slowly, and she just rolled her eyes.
"Hurry UP," She groaned and he just laughed at her.
"You could be patient," He shrugged and joined by her side.
