The chilly evening air of Himalayas brushing against her milky skin and sending a slight shiver down her spine. She wrapped in warm woollen kaftan that Kahini gave her. she pulled her shawl tighter around her shoulders over it, the crispness of the air filling her lungs. The snow-covered landscape glistened under the moonlight.

"Yeah I'll be staying here for a week" Kahini Informed Faraz over call with ting of guilt as she will be lying a bit.

"That's great Ammi, I have heard north india is really beautiful specially Himalayan region." Faraz gushed while walking through the busy streets of New York.

"Yeah It's beautiful here," Sanam replied, her eyes drifting to the snow-covered trees. "Cold, but beautiful. The mountains, the snow, it's all so peaceful."

"That sounds amazing" Faraz said, sensing pure happiness in his mother's tone.

"How is arrangements there uncle said you are staying at your friend's place."  Son inquired casually

"yeah" she glanced back into the cozy warmth of the living room, where Kahini was reading book. "It's perfect, it's beautiful house. She runs orphange here, and has huge cottage on top of the hill."

"ohh.. wow.. you never mentioned you have friend in india" Faraz wondered. Sanam paused for moment as sadness wash over her.

"Well you mother is world renowned singer I know people everywhere, I know her from Instagram few years back. but since I was in india she invited me so I thought why not. she is doing great job here, I was meaning to visit this orphanage from quite some time." Mother lied gulping her guilt knowing it's need of the moment and their relationship.

Faraz laughed softly. "You always did have a soft spot for people who help others. She sounds great."

"She is," Sanam said, her voice full of affection. "And the children here are incredible. They're so full of life and hope. It's really something to see."

"That sounds like such a fulfilling experience," Faraz said thoughtfully. "I'm glad you're getting to do this, Mom. It sounds like it's been good for you. you needed this break"

"It has," Sanam agreed, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. "It's been a wonderful change of pace. How's everything in there? are you at university going?"

They chatted for a while longer, Sanam filling him in on the details of her Mumbai show and overwhelming response, and Faraz sharing stories from his bustling life in New York. As they talked, the chilly weather seemed to fade away, replaced by the warmth of their connection.

Eventually, Faraz had to go. "Take care, Mom," he said. "I'll have to go now. Don't worry about kids to much they will be fine."

Sanam said, smiling. "Sure, have a good day, Jaan. I love you. Allah hafiz"

"Love you too, Ammi Khuda hafiz," Faraz replied before the call ended.

Sanam Stood there admiring this chilly serene night for little longer. The Freezing  weather made her breath visible, tiny clouds dissipating into the air.

The door behind her creaked open, and Kahini stepped out, concern on her face. "What are you doing? It's freezing out here," she said, her voice filled with worry.
