Kahini stood on the balcony of the outhouse, her thoughts drifting in the memory of the evening. The sound of children's laughter still echoed in her ears, a sweet melody that warmed her heart. She could see it all so clearly—the way Sanam's face lit up as they gathered in the living room, the way they all laughed, talked, and shared in the simple joy of being together. It felt like a dream—one she had kept close to her heart for years, never daring to believe it would come true. But today, that dream had become real. Sanam was here, in her home—their home. And it wasn't just walls and a roof anymore; it was a space filled with love, with laughter, with the warmth of family. Their family.

The soft sound of footsteps pulled her out of her reverie. A familiar scent filled the air—Sanam's perfume, delicate and comforting. A smile crept onto Kahini's lips as she felt Sanam's presence wrap around her like an embrace, even before her words did.

"What are you thinking?" Sanam's voice came quietly as she joined her on the balcony, their shoulders brushing lightly, their fingers grazing each other as they rested on the railing.

"Do you need to ask?" Kahini turned, her eyes meeting Sanam's, filled with a quiet yet intense happiness. The love and contentment between them glowed silently in the shared gaze. So much was said in that single look, without the need for words.

Sanam's heart swelled, her chest tight with emotion. She didn't need Kahini to explain anything—she could feel it all, because she felt the same. After years of living in fragments, with stolen weekends and fleeting visits, they had always dreamed of this—the day they wouldn't have to part after each meeting, the day they wouldn't have to count the moments until they'd see each other again. This moment, this day, was one they had dreamed of more times than they'd allowed themselves to admit.

"It feels like a dream," Kahini whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief, but also overwhelming joy.

Sanam smiled softly, leaning into her with a playful nudge. "Don't worry," she teased, her voice light, "once my stuff arrives and you realize there's no space left for your clothes in the wardrobe, you'll know it's not a dream."

Kahini laughed, a soft, soothing sound that felt like a balm to Sanam's soul. "It's okay," Kahini murmured, a smile playing on her lips. "The house has so many rooms. We'll set up a walk-in closet just for you."

"Wow, you're so rich," Sanam quipped, her tone teasing, though her eyes were soft with affection.

"Just a little bit," Kahini replied playfully, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

They laughed together, the joy bubbling up between them. But as their eyes met, the laughter faded, replaced by something deeper. In that moment, the world seemed to fall away. Nothing else existed but the two of them, standing together, gazing into each other's eyes

They were here. Together. Under one roof, with their children. Surrounded by love and all the blessings that had brought them to this place.

This was it—their dream made real. The enormity of that realisation washed over them, flooding their hearts with a love so powerful it was almost overwhelming. The years of silent prayers, quiet hopes, and aching longing all culminated in this moment. It was as if the universe had aligned, bringing them to this exact place, this exact time, where they could finally be together, the way they had always wanted.

The intensity in their eyes shifted, and as they gazed at each other, their lips drew closer, the longing between them palpable. Slowly, inevitably, they leaned in, and when their lips finally met, it was as if the world ceased to exist. The kiss was soft at first, tender, filled with the unspoken emotions behind their closed eyes as their lips moved slowly feeing soft heated skin of each other. But Soon the moments quicker deepening the kiss, a passionate exchange of love, yearning, and relief. Everything they had felt for one another—the longing, the waiting, the desire—it was all there in that kiss.
