The night in Kullu had a serene stillness, the soft drizzle of rain making everything feel more intimate, the earthy scent of wet soil mingling with the crisp mountain air. Kahini's house was wrapped in an unusual quietness after the day's emotional whirlwind. The corridors were empty, the living room dimly lit, and the children were tucked away in their rooms. Though her parents had accepted her truth, there was a palpable tension in the air—an unease everyone felt but didn't quite know how to address. It hadn't been easy for anyone, least of all Kahini and her parents, but the entire house was trying to make peace with the weight of the day's revelations.

On the balcony, Sanam stood Talking over her phone, watching the mist gather in the distance, a shawl wrapped tightly around her shoulders to fight off the cool evening breeze. Behind her, Prashant and Shirish sat at a small table, quietly discussing. Even in her exhaustion, there was a flicker of relief in her chest—things had turned out better than she had feared.

"Ammi, do you want me to come?" Faraz's voice came through other side of all threaded with worry, a protective tone that made Sanam's heart ache with love for him.

"No, jaan, everything is okay here," Sanam replied, the warmth of his concern touching her deeply. "It's just that no one was prepared for this. It caught us both off guard." her weariness evident.

Faraz's concern only deepened. "Is Aunty okay?"

"Yeah, she's okay. But it's a big deal you know." Sanam could feel the weight of his worry, and she wanted nothing more than to ease it.

Faraz hesitated, then added, "I called her, but she didn't answer. Where is she?" There was an edge of protectiveness in his voice, his instinct to look after both of them coming through clearly.

"She's inside, I'll tell her to call you back," Sanam reassured him, her heart warming at the thought of her son's gentle care. "But don't worry, really. Everything's fine here."

"Okay," Faraz replied, though the concern lingered in his voice. He had heard bits and pieces from Saiba about the day's events, and he couldn't shake the feeling that his mother might be in an environment that didn't fully accept her. It gnawed at him, making him want to be there, to make sure she was safe.

Sanam sighed as the call ended, the weight of the day pressing back on her shoulders. She turned and walked towards Shirish and Prashant, the quiet murmur of their conversation reaching her. As she approached, Shirish looked up, his face softening as he noticed the slight exhaustion.

"All okay?" he asked, his voice gentle, filled with a warmth.

Sanam nodded. "Yeah, He was worried, as always," she added with a small smile, as she settled onto the small bamboo couch beside Prashant. Shirish, seated on the chair to her right, worry still lingering in her eyes as she thought about the day and Kahini's parents.

"Don't worry, Sanam. Mom and Dad are really sweet people. Right now, they're just shocked. Give them some time." Shirish's voice was steady, filled with quiet reassurance as he glanced at her.

Sanam sighed softly. "I know, but I'm just worried about them. Even though they said they accepted us, I can see it in their eyes, this isn't easy for them. It just hurts to see them like this," her voice trembled slightly, as concern creeping through her for Kahini's parents.

"It's okay Sanam,"Prashant softly spoke, sensing the weight of her worry. "Even though they come from a small town, they are not conservative like that. They may not look modern, but they understand the language of love, and they have so much love to give."
