chapter 26

Annaka POV
I walked to the kitchen in the morning and saw everyone there. "Hey guys."

"Hey," they all responded.

"I'm about to cook breakfast if you want some," mito says.

"No thank you," I say. I don't really like eating when I first wake up. I was never hungry when I wake up so that's the point of eating you know?

"You sure," she asks, I nodded at her. "If you say so."

"We're leaving soon, by the way," Gon says.

"Awe really? I'll miss you guys," Mito responds.

"I'll visit soon," gon says. "They'll most like be with me."

"What are you guys gonna do now?" She asks.

"I don't know," killua says. "I'll probably just travel with gon and annaka for now."

"I'm gonna meet up with the Chairman," I say. "He's going to be in York New city when we are meeting up with Leorio and Kurapika."

"That sounds fun!" She says, I nodded.

The food was made and they sat down and ate, leaving food for me in case I wanted some. I sat down with them but didn't eat anything. We talked a bit while they ate.

Gon, Killua and I were outside in the forest, exploring. Suddenly, the Chairman appeared.

"Hey guys," he said, casually.

"U-uh hi? where'd you come from," Gon asked.

"I was in the area so I thought I'd drop by. I went to your house but your Aunt said you were exploring in the forest," he said. "I'm actually here to talk to Annaka."

I looked at him confused, "Is something wrong?"

"Come with me, please," he said, completely ignoring my question. I followed him to a point Gon and Killua couldn't hear.

"Whats wrong?" I ask.

"Your father is....alive," he said. "He'll most likely come for you."

I gasped, "What? How? I killed him!"

"I don't know, all I know is he's alive, and he's looking for you," he says.

"What am I supposed to do?" I ask.

"Be prepared," he said. "He's going to come for you."

"You said that three times already! I get it! how am I supposed to be prepared? He's way stronger than me," I say.

"Train," he said simply.

"I won't be able to get as strong as him in time!" I retorted.

"I believe you can," he says. "I'll train you."

I sighed, "How do you know he's alive?"

"I saw him at your house," he said.

"Why were you at my house?" I ask.

"The butlers were confused on what they should do, I guess? They led me into a trap," he said. "Your father made them do it."

"Do you know why?"

"He wanted to kill me," he laughed. "I didn't really make it into the house before I noticed it was a trap so I didn't have to fight him. I just wanted to let you know."

"So..he's alive..." I say.

"Yes, I'm sorry Annaka," he apologized.

"Not your fault, I should've made sure he was dead," I said, my eyebrows furrowing. I got a call on my phone and answered.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Ann."

My face turned into one of shock and fear. "What do you want?" I asked with venom in my voice.

"You know, you shouldn't talk to your father that way, it might get you hurt."

"Answer the damn question!"

"Fine fine. I want you to come home."

"No."

"Why not?" He sounded like he was pouting.

"Are you really asking that right now?"

"whatever, come home or someone will get hurt."

My face turned into worry with the fear still there. The Chairman looked at me with a concerned face.

"Why should I believe you?"

"Because I have Kurapika right next to me." I could literally hear the smirk in his voice.

"What?! Is he hurt? You better not have hurt him or I swear to-"

"Keep speaking that way and he will get hurt."

I went silent for moment. "Let me talk to him."

"Fine."

I heard shuffled and a "Hello." from the other side of the phone.

"Kurapika! Are you okay? Are you hurt?!"

"Yea I'm fine, and no I'm not hurt. Annaka do not come ill be fine."

"What? No! I'm coming! I will not let my selfish actions result in your death!"

Then I heard my dad, "Enough. Hi Annaka."

I mouthed to the Chairman, 'One moment' and walked out of ear shot. "I-ill come home just...don't hurt him."

"Great!"

"You'll release him as soon as I get there! No exceptions!"

"Of course dear," he then hung up. I flinched at the name be called me.

I walked back over to the Chairman, "Sorry something has came up, um, talk later?"

He nodded and I ran off. I quickly ran towards the boat that was just about to leave but I got on it.

Killua POV
i sighed as I waited for Annaka to come back. My gut was telling me something was wrong. And I was going to listen to it. I walked to the Chairman and asked, "Where's Annaka?"

"She said something came up," he replied. I furrowed my eyebrows, my gut was telling me something but what? Is she in trouble?

"Do you know where she went?" I ask.

"No," he said. His face went from neutral to worried. "Oh no."

"What?" he didn't answer for a second. "What?!"

"I was talking to her about her dad! He's alive, and she got a call!" He said, worry and anger in his voice. "Shit! how could I be so stupid. Why didn't I piece that together sooner?!" He ran towards his airship.

"Wait for me dammit!" I yelled.
