Knock, Knock. I Care - Jax X Original Character (Reader)

1- Digital Everything

I had so many questions running through my head all at once.

What's going on? Where am I? Who's voices are those?

Who knows. All I knew was that my head hurt like hell.

I tried to pry open my tired eyes and let them slowly adjust to the bright colors around me.

"Hey, Newbie's up," I heard a tired, deep voice say from somewhere behind me.

I whip around and quickly get to my feet, unsure of my new surroundings and spotting the person whose voice I must have heard, with them being the closest to me. They had a pink triangle head with two different sized eyes and wonky limbs.

"Wh-who are you? Where the f$*k am I?" My voice comes out shakier than I'd like, but it'll do.

"Well, my dear, you're in "THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS!"" a loud, extravagent voice shouted in my ear from behind me.

"The what?" I mutter quietly, not intending for anyone to really hear it, but the hovering dentures continue.

"The Amazing Digital Circus, of course! Where anything can happen! Except for cursing, that- that cannot happen. For this is a family-friendly outing!" He said, before introducing himself as 'Caine: the ringmaster'.

I took a minute to process his words before asking, "Not to be rude, but uh, how do I...leave?" I ask, gently feeling around my face for the headset I had put on what felt like mere minutes ago.

"Ha!" I hear from my left and look over to find a tall (but not much taller than me) purple rabbit with pink overalls and a sarcastic grin. "You can't. You're stuck here! So, I recommend you get comfortable, sweetheart."

"Jax, shut it. But, unfortunately, he's right. There's no leaving this f&*%$^g nightmare," the multicolored being from before added. "Zooble, by the way."

My eyes slightly widened at this, wondering if what these people were saying was true. Was there really no escape? Or was this some kind of strange A.I. programming to get me to think that I am?

"My name is...my name- what the f&*k is my name?" I wracked my brain to try and find what part contained my name, but I found nothing.

"Ah, the forgetting of the name. We all go through it, here. All a part of the circus!" the purple bunny said, keeping his smile.

"That's quite alright! As Jax mentioned, we all forget names here! That's why we can make new ones!" Caine said, motioning to a falling letter machine that landed right in front of me.

"Wait, wait, wait. If you knew that I wouldn't remember my name then- why even ask me at all?" I ask, an eyebrow raised. This guy must be for the dramatics. I hear Zooble snort from behind me.

"I- uh.... nevermind that!" He pulled the lever, and a series of letter came up, spelling-

"What about, YYUCC!?" Caine asked loudly, before slightly cringing. It sounded too much like "Yuck".

I shook my head softly. He pulled the lever again.

"Ah, what about Sugar? Personally, I like this one a lot better than the one before!" the mouth man said, looking at me hopefully.

"Uh...Yeah. It works for me, I guess."

"Perfect! Sugar it is!" Caine smiled widely and the letter machine disappeared with the snap of his fingers.

"So, will we be having a welcome adventure for Sugar today?" A sweet, happy voice asked from behind and I turned around to see a ragdoll look-alike who was walking closer to the group.

"Right after I show Ms. Sugar around!" Caine grabbed my arm and suddenly we warped and were floating in an outside setting, showing a giant circus tent, a theme park, and a large lake.

"This is the tent! Where we all live and play games and.... Yeah!" he paused in the middle of his sentence as he pointed to the big yellow and red tent. Then, he motioned to the lake. "Drown yourself in the digital lake-" then the amusement park, "or have a blast with your friends at the digital amusement park!"

We warped before I could comment or ask any questions, and suddenly we were in a large, white open space.

"THIS IS THE VOID! We do not go into the void! No one even knows what's out there, not even I!"

And then, we were back.

"Is it adventure time now?" a ribbon-like character with a sad mask on asked in a shaky voice.

"That's right! Hide n' Seek to get more comfortable with your surroundings! Bubble here will spin the wheel to see who is "it"! Good luck!" And after he said this, Caine disappeared into thin air, leaving a floating bubble with large teeth and beady eyes spinning the wheel that materialized from seemingly nowhere.

Everyone watched excitedly-minus one or two of them- to see who would be finding the other players and I just wanted an excuse to find my room and go to bed.

The wheel was slowly coming to a stop, the pointer clicking and clicking until landing on...

Well, d%*n.
