Knock, Knock. I Care - Jax X Original Character (Reader)

9- Big Back

Summary: After Caine FINALLY takes care of the Kaufmo incident, Jax, Sugar, and the gang eat a well-deserved dinner made with a legal amount of love.

"And into the cellar you go!" Caine's usual dramatic voice says, throwing Kaufmo's abstracted body into a dark hole, where I could only assume all the other abstractions were.

I let out a sigh, leaning tiredly against the person who was closest to me: Jax. He leant back against me. Zooble approached the group, a melancholy expression on their face. "I can't believe Kaufmo just- gave up like that. No offense Kinger, but I always thought you'd be next."

"Thank you."

What the hell?

"Guess it just goes to show you can't rely on Kinger for anything," Jax sighed, a hand on his hip. I couldn't help but let out a snort.

Then, I notice Ragatha, all glitched out and distorted, crawling up to Caine. I suddenly felt a pang of guilt for leaving her behind. But, then again, that wasn't my decision.

"I-I am in so m-much p-pain!" She cried out before Caine snapped his fingers and she was fixed, blinking from the sudden relief.

I reached down a hand to help her up, which she thankfully grabbed and stood up.

She looked awkwardly at Pomni before looking down at the ground.

Did something happen between those two?

Caine began to ramble, and frankly, I wasn't listening one little bit.

I looked around at the now clean circus, before a flash of red hit the corner of my eye. I look back in the direction it came from only to see nothing in its place.

I shake my head of the thoughts and try to soothe my on-coming headache.

"- if it you out into the void. Anyway, it like you the Queen, so I the adventure's over. Your is a by our head Chef!" I stopped dissociating when Caine mentioned food.

I was starving.

"MADE WITH ALL THE LOVE I'M legally allowed to give~" Bubble trailed off, spinning around a knife before disappearing.

That seemed oddly familiar.

"You know, I am pretty hungry," Jax said, leaning his elbow against my shoulder.

"From what?"

"You didn't even do anything!"

Jax rolls his eyes, annoyed. "So what? I can still be hungry!"

(I'm going to ignore what Kinger says here because in this version of The Amazing Digital Circus, you can get hungry, feel pain, be tired, and eventually, change your clothes.)

We all made our way to the table whilst Jax and Kinger were arguing over Jax not doing anything to be hungry.

I took my usual spot next to Jax, and Pomni sat on the other side of me.

"I hope we have strawberry shortcake for dessert again!" I say happily.

"Oh lay off the cake, you big back! You've had enough to feed a third world country!" Jax kicked your leg under the table, snickering annoyingly.

I gasped. "Hey- don't be rude, Cottontail! Are we forgetting who stole my breakfast last week?"

"It was one time!"

"Food burglar!"

"Big back!"

"Hash brown hogger!"

"CaseOh of cake!"

"Oh, now that's too far."

"Hush, sugar cube."
