Summary: Things are a bit different now. But all is well in the Amazing Digital Circus.

After breakfast, Caine gathered us for yet another altered version of our theme song.

I tried to ignore and forget the events of the previous night, which seemed to work quite well. After all, it began to become a very 'productive' day. I wondered what Caine had cooking up for us today.

I don't really understand what the point of this stupid theme song even is, but if Caine wants us to do it, we do it. Sometimes, though, it makes me feel almost like I have to be obedient.

It was a drastic change, not in a way you'd think. It was, in a sense, a more melancholy mood, despite there being a name added, and the rhythm being the same.

But in the process, one was subtracted.

We lined up at our spots, Jax finally making an appearance for what felt to be the first time in days, but was merely a few hours.

The theme song was so different, in fact, my eyes drooped to the ground in grievance when Kaufmo's familiar name didn't reach my ears.

"Gangle and Zooble, and Kinger, too."

"Ragatha, Jax, Sugar and Pomni, woo-hoo!"

That was all I had to listen to.

As the theme song neared its end, all was quiet before Jax, seemingly perfectly fine and dandy, spoke up, popping his back and resting his hands on his hips.

"Well! Pomni's been here for a few days, why don't we see what kind of 'special thing' she has!" he said, and I instantly grimaced.

I remembered when I had to find my 'special thing' back a little while after I first arrived. It wasn't a pleasant memory.

"Oh, sure! That sounds like a great idea, Jax! Even though we all remember what happened last time..." Zooble sarcastically (smirked?) at me, and my face turned hot.

"I said I was sorry-"

"Yep! Let's head over to a more comfortable area, then!" Ragatha cut in, trying desperately to change the subject. The day I found my 'special thing' was a day nobody wanted to remember.

Everyone sat on the edge of their seats, waiting for Pomni's thing to appear. But currently, it would look as if she were about to internally combust.

Her cheeks were cutely puffed out as she held her breath. She abruptly lets go of the air and gasps heavily. "I can't hold it any longer!" she whined and I patted her back.

"Sure you can, we can't die from oxygen deprivation, remember?" Jax said, smirking, leaning in close. It seemed like he was trying to piss people off today. I meant that in more ways than one.

Pomni scoffed up at him. "But it still feels like I'm gonna die."

Kinger finally seemed to snap out of whatever daze he was in, joining in on the conversation. "Try not thinking about it," he said, which honestly, wasn't that surprising of advice from him since he never really seemed to think about anything, anyways.

Jax stepped in front of Pomni's line of vision once more. Why was he getting so close to her?

"Ooooor, you could toughen up! I wanna see what that funny cartoon body does!" he laughed, picking up Pomni's arm and stretching it away from her body, causing her to roughly pull it back and put it where it belongs.

"Hey, take it easy. We all remember what happened last time-" Ragatha started, but I assume she caught my death glare, because she stopped talking.

"Why does everyone keep talking about 'last time'? What does that even mean? What happened last time?" Pomni interjected, confusion written all over her face. I quickly jumped into the conversation standing up and flicking my hair into Jax's face, to which he scoffed at.

"Okay! Ha-ha, Poms, why don't you try that breath thing again, okay!?"

"All right...here I go."

She began to hold her breath once more. Her face began to turn a shocking royal blue after a few moments.

"All right, we've entered the blue zone," Zooble narrated.

It turned pink.

"Hey, there's something new!"

Now it's red.

"Okay, we're getting red..."

Orange.

"Ooh! Orange!"

Then it switched to yellow and so on and so forth. The hues on her features started to quickly transition, becoming a blur of color until she released the breath, desperately gasping for air.

"Huh. Guess the hue shift just gets quicker," Ragatha pointed out. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. At least it wasn't something totally...yeesh.

Pomni asked why she was the one doing this, to which Jax ever so kindly explained.

"Because something different happens with each person! For instance, Kinger starts glowing, Ragatha's hair noodles stick up, Gangle's mask starts spinning, Zooble turns straight-"

"My limbs straighten-" they paused. They flipped Jax off. "F%*k off!"

"-And Princess Shortcake over here blows up like a-"

"OKAY, JAX!" I stood up, face red and covering Jax's mouth with my hand.

"Nothing happens to me, Poms. Little Jaxy-poo here is just trying to stir trouble," I put him in a headlock, fake smiling down at him. I let him go when he stopped resisting. "Nuh-uh! You get all-!" I tackled him.

"Well, what's yours then, Jax?" Pomni asked.

"He refuses to show us because he's a coward," Zooble said, to which I snorted. I let Jax finally stand up.

"I wanna keep the mystery alive. What do you, the viewers, think it is?" he smiled and pointed to seemingly nowhere. I rolled my eyes.

"Jax, you're not the main character, stop it," I said, shoving him lightly.

"Yeah, will you stop doing that?" Zooble added on.

"Well then, why is yours so bad to talk about?" Pomni asked me.

I nervously looked back and forth and made sure Jax didn't hear me say anything or wasn't paying any attention, before leaning in close to Pomni's ear and whispering what it was.

When I pulled away, Pomni's jaw was slack and her eyes were widened more than usual.

"Just... we don't usually bring it up, okay? It's not something that's worth being brought up, okay? Especially because you-know-who doesn't know when to shut up," I nervously glanced at a teasing Jax. Someone, who, has been said before, takes one insecurity and can run with it for miles. Pomni nodded, making a "zip-lips" motion before smiling at me. I returned the gesture.

Jax was a great big ball of pessimistic hatred, lies, blackmail, and all the other negative things in the world. Which constantly made me wonder why the hell I was so attracted to him.

But that was a mystery for another day, I suppose.
