Karina's outfit is above!

chapter thirty-two.

"Thank you, Greta."

Karina hung up the phone with an annoyed groan, she was mentally drained from everything going on.

Greta had told her about her dad finding and waking Mikael, which meant Karina had to once again fix the mess that was around her.

However, it could wait.

Tonight, Kol was meeting Tyler and Karina's family.

Karina had told him that he didn't need to meet them, that her parents knew about their bond, but Kol insisted that he wanted to meet them regardless. It was endearing that Kol wanted to do the whole meeting the parents thing properly when they were far from the normal relationship.

Karina was helping her mother prepare, they had decided to do something simpler as they weren't sure if the Mikaelson's would like Filipino food at all. Aurora did prepare a small batch of Adobo though since Tyler had requested it and Aurora was always more than happy to cook for those who actually enjoyed her food.

Aurora had already made a batch of rolls that only needed to be cooked, which she would do before everyone arrived. Andrew made his famous garlic butter salmon what would be served with Aurora's famous mashed potatoes, and greens. It was one of Karina's favorites when her dad cooked salmon, so she was definitely excited.

The had also made a side salad to seem a little fancier, though Karina would joke that just because they had side salad didn't make it fancy, to which Andrew tickled her until she was begging for release.

"So, Kol Mikaelson huh?" Aurora asked softly.

Karina looked up from the dessert that she was preparing for after dinner and nodded her head. "Kol Mikaelson."

"I can't believe a Clark witch was paired with a Mikaelson." Aurora said in awe, "I mean usually when a Clark receives a soulmate which has happened only once before, he was a human."

Karina hummed, "I wonder why Kol and I were paired together."

"Did you talk to the ancestors yet?" Aurora asked and Karina shook her head. "Maybe you should."

"I can't reach them." Karina admitted to her mother, "Since resurrecting Vicki and sending back the spirits, it's like someone is blocking their connection to me. I can feel them, they're so near yet so far and I think it's the witch that Vicki told me about on the other side."

"Only a fool would go against a Clark." Aurora told her with a grin.

Karina smiled back before putting the dessert into the fridge and turned back to look at her mom. "I'm going to go and get ready before they all arrive."

By all, Karina meant Jenna, Elijah, Jeremy, Kol, Rebekah, Javier, and Bonnie.

Tyler and William were upstairs in the boys room doing some art, but William was very excited to see Jeremy as the two had spent their summer together along with Tyler. It was such an odd thing to see, the growth between Jeremy and Tyler was insane to Karina but she was overjoyed about it.

Karina headed upstairs and picked out a simple outfit before jumping into the shower, Bonnie would be over soon so the two could get ready together.

An hour later, Karina was sitting in her room drying her hair when Bonnie arrived.

It wasn't necessary for Bonnie to help Karina, but Bonnie needed a distraction, something she was explaining to Karina now.
