chapter twenty-nine.

Klaus was gone.

He had left after getting Elena's blood and went with Mason to where his pack was located. He had also taken several moonlight rings for those who didn't want to be a hybrid but still wanted to swear allegiance to Klaus or in this case it would be Karina since she created the rings.

Damon was pissed that Klaus knew Elena was alive, that he had taken her blood and that he was most likely going to come back for more. The icing on the cake was when he learned that Elena was okay with it, how could she be okay with him trying to drain her practically?

Karina had to threaten Damon again when he tried to grab Elena and force her to stay in the Salvatore House, Damon then learned that it was Karina's fault. She had brought Klaus back, she had sold Elena out, and oh how livid he was but knew he couldn't attack her, at least not yet.

Javier and Rebekah had found a mansion town thanks to the help of Klaus, the two were staying there and working on the renovations while Klaus was away. Elijah and Jenna were on their way back, leaving Finn and Sage to enjoy their time together with the promise that they would come visit every once and awhile.

Before Klaus left, he compelled Stefan to keep Elena and Bonnie safe much to his annoyance, but he had no choice but to comply.

Karina had been spending time with Tyler, helping him with his control along with Kol's. It wasn't easy in the slightest, but they had made amazing progress with snatching, eating, and erasing thanks to Rebekah's help as well. Plus, with Elijah coming back, the two would have more help as well, not that Kol liked to admit it, but he liked that his family wasn't shutting him out.

Karina and Tyler arrived at school, the two had their arms linked together as they walked towards the doors.

"Did we really have to come?" Karina pouted as she leaned her head against his shoulder.

Tyler chuckled, "Yes Rina, we did."

"Fuck." She groaned playfully making Tyler laugh as they walked inside.

Karina detached from Tyler when a bubbling Caroline came bouncing over with excitement over her face. Karina caught the girl when she wrapped her arms around her happily. "Caroline."

"We didn't exactly get to say hi last night." Caroline laughed softly before pulling away to look at her and Tyler. "How are you guys?"

"Good." Tyler nodded his head, "Karina, Kol, and Rebekah have been helping me with feeding in moderation."

"That's good." Caroline nodded her head before looking at Karina. "And you?"

"I'll get there." Karina told her with a small smile. "Where's Bonnie?"

Caroline looked over her shoulder where Bonnie and Elena were talking. "Talking to Elena about how Stefan told her Klaus compelled him to guard them both."

Karina snorted, "Of course he did."

The three spoke for a bit more before separating to go to their lockers, Karina had been filled in on the summer drama which was surprising to her.

Caroline and Tyler had been hanging out here and there which resulted in Caroline getting kidnapped by Tyler's mom and Caroline's dad. Karina recalled when Tyler had called her that Caroline was missing and how worried he was.

Tyler and Mason showed then Carol what happens to them during the full moon thus revealing their own secret, Damon went after Bill Forbes, but Caroline managed to save him.
