Karina's outfit is above!
chapter forty-four.
Karina was walking the streets of New Orleans, Kol was off with Elijah on another feeding lesson to teach him control. He's shown amazing progress and Karina has never failed to remind him of that whenever he had to go.
She found herself at the Church where the head of the human faction was said to be, she wanted to talk and find out why he tried to stop the harvest when it was said that the factions mind their business.
Just what was Marcel trying to do? Complete control over the Quarter like a tyrant? Karina had heard that some vampires disliked his rules, he was a tyrant in the making as he played favorites with the vampires.
Karina walked into the Church, it was empty with a few people inside praying but they didn't glance her way as they minded their business.
"Hello." A voice called out to her, and Karina turned her head to see a man in a priest get up.
"You must be Father Kieran." Karina noted and the man gave her a wary look. "Karina Baxter."
Kieran looked at Karina warily, "Did you need something?"
Karina hummed, "I need to know why you interfered with witch business. As a human, you're meant to mind your business." Kieran felt his blood run cold as he looked around but there was no one he could call for help. "Now, I'm not trying to cause problems, but I need to know why you're working with Marcel to control the witches when they don't bother you. In fact, it's their practice that makes tourism flourish."
"The harvest is barbaric." Kieran told her, "It's wrong."
"And you have no say in what the witches do." Karina reminded him with narrowed eyes. "Now that my coven and family are moving here, I've come to let the factions know that interference with one another isn't allowed other than the vampires not feeding on the locals."
"Marcel tried that, and the wolves got power hungry." Kieran told her with a frown.
"And then he subjected them to life as wolf, he took away their lives and forced them into the bayou." Karina glared at him, "That to me is barbaric and yet you want to back him as King?" Karina shook her head, "The witches may have odd traditions but at least they didn't let the vampires try and control them."
"I'm human." Kieran reminded her with a harsh tone.
"Then learn to fight back." Karina snapped in annoyance. "You'll be getting an invitation soon from Elijah Mikaelson, with the Mikaelson family moving back into town, I'm sure you know what that means."
With that she walked away, and Kieran did know what it meant, he had heard of a time when Klaus Mikaelson claimed himself to be King of New Orleans but it was Marcel who was trying to gain that title. Had he gained control of the witches then he would've been able to, but it was this one witch that stopped him and his vampires.
He didn't know what it would mean for the humans, but he knew that she was right, with humans being heavily defenseless, he would have to learn to fight back against them in some way.
Karina didn't make it far from the Church when someone ran at her, pulled her into an alley with their vampire speed and tossed her to the ground. She let out a cry of pain before seeing an unfamiliar vampire, her eyes glowed as her magic shot out and immediately, he was on the ground, screaming in pain.
"Who the fuck sent you?" Karina growled while clenching her fists and making him scream louder before ending her spell.
"I did." Karina turned to see Marcel Gerard, Klaus' son. "I heard it was you who protected the witches."
