We came to a stop, and I realized we were in some kind of a meadow with flowers, and it had a big pond. Miles took his helmet off and he got off his bike. He shook his hand and ruffled his hair before offering me his hand. He helped me off the bike and undid the helmet straps.
"Miles, where are we?" I asked, while fixing my hair.
"Don't worry about it," He said before intertwining our fingers and leading us down a trail.
"Is this where you dump your victims after you murder them?" I joked lightly.
He starts laughing, "If I did, I wouldn't dump them here,"
We stopped in front of the pond and it was beautiful. The moon light was shining on the pond and the meadow was silently moving due to the light wind. There were a few frogs making sounds and an owl howling. It was peaceful.
"This is," I began.
"Peaceful?" Miles finished my sentence. I nodded and looked up at him, his gaze was already on me.
"How did you find this place?" I asked.
"That's the fun thing about riding. You travel and get to explore places like this," He tells me.
"When did you get your motorcycle?" I asked, looking back out to then pond.
"My dad gifted it to me when I was sixteen. I remember my mom being so furious," He chuckled at the end.
"I don't blame her," I pushed my shoulder against him.
"Yeah," His tone fell short and I can feel how tense he got. His shoulders stiffened and he looked down.
"Can we sit?" I asked and he nodded.
Miles made sure there were no bugs before we sat.
"Do you still talk to your parents?" I asked, bringing my knees up to my chest and resting my head on them with my arms wrapped around.
"Not really," He looked out towards the pond. He didn't seem to want to talk about it.
I wasn't sure if I should have asked or just change the subject.
"Well...how come?" I awkwardly asked.
He sighed deeply, "After my sister's accident, my parents divorced. I only talk to my dad when he's available, which is mostly never,"
"I'm sorry," I placed my hand on his shoulder.
He turned his head slowly to me, "It's not your fault,"
I give a small smile before taking my hand off and letting rest.
He cleared his throat, "What about you?"
"What do you mean?" I give a confused look.
"Your parents," He said.
I scratched my head while looking down. I bite my lip as I tried to ignore my tears that wanted to flow.
