I stared at my bedroom window, trying to forget what happened this past weekend. I wasn't sure if I was just being dramatic, but the bruises on my arms say otherwise. I haven't left my bed in five days because I ended up getting sick from being out by the ocean late at night and mostly crying. Levi and Archie have been checking up on me, either by texting me or, when they get home, they bring me food and medication. I gave the school a medical form from my doctor saying I can't leave the house until I'm better. Luckily, my doctor had virtual appointments, so I didn't have to see her.
I haven't talked to Miles since that night, either.
Flynn tried talking to me last night, but I ignored him. I noticed that he had a big bruise on his cheek, which I'm guessing was from the fight.
There was a knock on my door, catching my attention. "Jules, it's Levi," I heard his voice from the other slide of the door before he walked in.
"How are you feeling?" He said while sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Better," My voice was hoarse, and I continued to stare out the window.
"Well, that's good because you're getting out of bed today," The bed sheets were suddenly ripped off my body.
"Stop!" I curl into a ball.
"Julia, come on; you're leaving this room today. You need to get out of this room," He sits next to me.
I sigh, "I don't feel like it,"
"Jul, when I came home from the hospital, you took care of me and encouraged me to leave the room when I didn't want to. It's my turn now. So please, get out of bed," He starts to shake me lightly.
I groan and shake my head. 'No.'
"Yes, everyone misses you," He says.
"Liar," I mumble.
"Nope. Archie was complaining about how much he misses your cooking," He nudged me.
"Really? Or are you just saying that to make me feel better?" I finally sit up.
"Really," He chuckled lightly. I looked down at my hands knowing I wasn't going to win this arguement.
"Fine, I'll get up," I tell him, and he starts smiling.
"Good," He stood up and started walking out, "Oh, and get dressed. We're heading to the beach," He said before closing the door.
I spring out of bed and go over to the mirror. I check my arms, and the bruises have slightly gone away, but they're still visible. We're going to the beach. How am I going to cover this?
I go through my dresser drawer of bikinis. Luckily, I found one with a cropped long-sleeve top and a regular bikini bottom. I slipped on my jeans shorts on top and grabbed my tote bag, a baseball cap, and my sandals. I threw my messy hair into a low bun and put my sunglasses resting on top of my head.
