New York is a busy city and it's also the place where Hope Mikaelson was studying in NYU, she was in her second year of college. She as well as others was sharing her dorm with three other girls. Penelope Park and the Saltzman twins.

Although Hope shared her living space, she always kept to herself unless the four of them would have their occasional dinner once a week. Out of all four girls Penelope and Lizzie was the ones who was more outspoken while Joise was more the timid one as Hope liked to be alone.

Each dorm had four rooms, so they all had their own living space. There was a small kitchen and storage that was always full thanks to her aunts and uncles who would send her groceries once a week. That also made her roommates happy since they didn't need to pay for food and that it was a less payment for them to think about and the girls was very thankful for that.

The four girls were studying for the finals and was just home as it was Wednesday and most of their building was going about their day.

As Josie and Hope was cooking dinner while Penelope and Lizzie were quizzing each other. When dinner was done Penelope turned on the tv so they could listen to the news while eating, it was a habit that they all had a costume to.

As they were eating and chatting about everything until they heard the alarm go off and the news broadcast about a new drug that had hit the streets and now the ones been using was acting strange and had been attacking people and eating them like cannibals.

As they all stopped eating Hope quickly looked outside their window and their balcony as they saw people being attacked. The girl's eyes widen as they could not believe what was happening outside their apartment building.

There were other students who was also watching from their dorms and was horrified. From some dorms they could hear screams coming from the apartments. Penelope called the campus guards, but it did not go anywhere. "I can't get through the guards" she said. Hope and Josie tried to call their families as well. "Dad locked the school area so at least they are fine". Josie said looking at her sister.

"Aunt Freya we are fine for now, but we don't know what's going to happen here" Hope said as the others was listening. "Yes, okey yeah. We going to hold on for now and we will see what will happen". They all watch as the government told them to stay put and wait for rescue. Armed themselves if they could. Most of the building was gone and there was just a few of them.

"Hey Josie, you there" they heard a voice say as the brunette looked up and saw her best friend. "MG, you're alive thank god" she said as Jed also popped his head out of his window, "Hey, look they are people down there on the roof" he said pointing at the parking space.

"Hey, we need to block our doors just in case they try to enter" Penelope said as she started to drag some furniture to block their entrance. "Okey we need to know the signs if they are infected, bleeding from the eyes and nose and most of all bitten somewhere" Penelope said as she was taking notes from the news. Josie sat down with her as Hope and Lizzie was speaking to their families. From what Hope knew her family locked down their entire estate and they were there with some of the workers and some of the families that lived there while working for them.

"As soon as this dies down my uncles are coming to get us" the red head said as she sat down on the couch with the girls. "Okey dad just be safe and I promise that we will take care of each other, just promise me to let the kids have some defends lessons now that the world has gone mad" Lizzie said before she hung up the phone, "He is freaking out and now the older kids at school have to learn how to defend themselves" the blond twin said.

"It works, fuck yes it works" they heard Jed shout as they all ran towards the balcony and was watching what he was doing. Jed had his soft air gun and was shooting at the infected ones in the head and they dropped liked like flies. "Well, I be dammed, maybe there is a way to get supplies and other shit, so we don't need to be stuck here" Lizzie said as she had an idea popping in her head.
