Three weeks passed by Adhiraj and my relationship was strictly professional. We talked only about work. I put myself in the stack of the file he put on my desk everyday. We worked and left, that was our only schedule. I wanted to clear a few things I did in the past but it seemed impossible. As I didn't know how to start. After trying for a couple of days I finally gave up. It was better this way.

On the other hand the workload in the office was increasing day by day. It got me tired enough to make me crawl in the comfort of my bed and sleep. But as soon as my head touched the pillow thoughts of Adhiraj would haunt me. I would take the left over work at home on Saturdays and finish it over the weekends. I didn't have many friends here in Mumbai so it was convenient for me to work on weekends. Just as I was looking over the file in front of me my personal phone buzzed. I checked the caller id to find Diya calling me.

Diya was an petite girl. With light brown eyes and a fair complexion. With sharp features and a curvy figure, she grabs the attention of the opposite gender rather easily. Whenever I pointed it out to her, she would always deny it.

"They look at me because you don't give them any attention. The way they check you out as if you are a memerising beauty. But when you don't even glance at them they go for me." I always rolled my eyes at her words. I knew I was beautiful with my brown eyes, fair skin and sharp features. But what attracted the opposite gender most was my smile. It is infectious making anyone's heart melt. But my heart would melt only by a certain someone.

Diya is energetic and reliable. Her qualities made me love her. Diya became my friend when I was doing my Masters in Yale. I was messed up and so was she. We clicked in our first class and then we were inseparable. She worked in the same company as mine in San Francisco. I wonder why she was calling me. I checked the time. It was 7.30 pm here. That means it was 7 am there. She must be getting ready to go to the office now. I picked up her call.

"Hello!"

"Hey, hottie! How are you?"

"I am fine babe."

"How is India treating you?"

"It's my homeland it will always be better than any place around the world."

"So you are not going to come back here?"

"No, I doubt I can come back."

"Everyone misses you here. They will be disappointed to hear this piece of news." I laughed at that.

"They will get over it."

"Well, are you missing me?"

"Are you supposed to even ask that. I obviously miss you." Just then I saw Adhiraj come to the door of my cabin.

"Well then there is good news for you."

"Are you coming here?" I said unable to control the wide grin that settled on my lips just then my eyes met with Adhiraj and I saw him clenching his jaw. He was about to knock when I nodded my head.

"Yes, I have a project in India. Mumbai to be specific, so I need to stay there till my project is done. It will take about a year to complete the project so I was thinking to rent a house...." I indicated to Adhiraj to sit on the chair opposite me.

"No need to rent any place for yourself. You can stay at my place."

"I don't want to be inconvenient."

"What nonsense! It's not like we will be sharing a room for the first time."

She laughed at my words.

"Okay fine. I will stay at your place for a few days then will shift to some other place."

"We have stayed together for more than two years. Sharing same house, room and even bed at times. So stop with this bullshit and stay at my place."
