It was Girha. She stood there shocked. Looking between Kartik and me.
"I thought...... I thought you had broken up with her. How could you?" She said tears brimming in her eyes.
"I had. But now I find no reason to stay away from her. She is my first love after all."
"Kartik......."
"Excuse me." I interrupted them. I was feeling very uncomfortable standing there. "I think you both must talk about this alone. Please let me take a leave." I said and walked out of the suffocating balcony. I walked straight to the washroom to freshen up.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror and noticed my cheeks had turned pink. I did touch up to my make up. When one of the cubicle's door opened. The same girl I met at Kartik's boutique came out wearing the same outfit I had selected for her.
"Hey we meet again." I said looking at her. She smiled in return.
"Thank you for helping me choose this dress. I could wear it twice."
"You're welcome." I said and looked at her. She looked really pretty in that dress. "We always meet coincidentally."
"Or maybe something is common between us and that is why we are meeting again and again." She said looking in my eyes. It felt as if she knew something that I didn't and she was trying to tell me discreetly.
"Maybe. Ohhh..... Yes I wanted to ask you this for a very long time but didn't get any chance. Inspite of us meeting so many times but not once did I ask your name."
"It's fine. Hi I am Ananta." She said forwarding her hand for me to shake.
"I am Aadhya." I said and shook her hand. Just then her phone pinged. She checked her phone and looked at me.
"I need to get going." She said and walked out of the washroom. My eyes followed her. As she reached the door she turned and wave a goodbye again with her hand. I replied by imitating her.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror. After checking that the makeup was still intact I walked out of the washroom.
"Took you long enough." I turned to see Kartik leaning against the wall I was passing by.
"What happened?"
"It's over." He said nonchalantly. I looked at him intently. "The party is almost over and I am unwell let's get out of here." He said helding my hand and started walking towards the exit.
"I need to let Vikram Bhai know."
"I already informed him. Let's go." He said as we reached the lobby waiting for his car.
"Kartik! Why do I feel something is wrong?" I said looking at him. He was acting all wierd all of the sudden. He laughed sarcastically looking at me.
"Happy realisation." He said. Our car arrived at the lobby of the hall just then. He started walking towards it and opened it. When I stood still he guestured me to get in.
"Why are you behaving this way?" I asked, as I sat in the car. He walked towards the other side where the chauffeur had opened the door for him and got behind the wheels.
"You are so smart, Aadhya. You read me like a book while on the other hand you are so dumb to not know anything about the person you claim to love." He said while starting the car.
"What do you mean?" I asked looking at him. While he laughed sarcastically again.
"Sometimes I feel bad for you and at times I want to laugh on you." He said looking straight ahead at the road.
