Aadhya's POV:It's 7.30 pm. I called everyone by 7 pm, I thought we would spend some time with each other then have dinner. But they are late. On top of that none of them is picking up my call. What is happening?
Just as I was about to call them, again the door bell rang. I walked to the door and opened it.
"It's 7.30 pm......" I stop what I was saying when I saw Adhiraj standing at the entrance of my penthouse.
"Aadi?"
"I hope I am not late. You didn't tell me the time so."
"No. No. I am sorry. You are perfectly on time. But none of the others are here yet." I said.
"Oh.... So the plan is cancelled?"
"No. It's on. Just. Just come inside."
"Okay."
We sat on the couch of my living room. Waiting for others to join. It had been long since we were alone without any office work. Two months to be exact. For the first time, I didn't know what to talk to him.
"You know." He said gaining my attention. "Sometimes, just sitting with a person in comfortable silence, speaks more volume." He said trying to ease the tension. I smiled back at him.
"Yes. You are right." I said and looked at him. "Want to see some movie?" I asked try to act normal. I got up to get the remote but Adhiraj held my wrist.
"Just sit here." He said pulling me back to the couch. "And don't try anything." He said maintaining proper distance. I sat back while he was looking at me.
"So how are you?" I asked.
"How do I looked?" He replied.
"Messed up." I said raising one of my eyebrows.
"But I cleaned well enough today." He said with a frown.
"Okay let me rephrase it. You have bags under your eyes, you have lost a lot of weight but still manage to look handsome." I said honestly.
"Well....."
"No. No, Adhiraj. Why are you doing this to yourself?" I said cutting him off.
"What am I doing?" He asked with seriousness.
"You left your home. Prepare tiffins for both of us. Do you really think, I won't come to know that every night when Jennifer leaves, she takes the tiffin along with her and drops it at your place?" I said.
"So the problem is tiffy?" He asked still in the same tone.
"No. It's...... It's you. What are you doing?" I said frustrated.
"What are you doing?" He asked back. "After taking the tiffin from me also you start eating only after I do. Skipping your meals. Keeping eyes on me, if I am fine or not. Planning dinner plans so that we can eat together." He yelled.
"That's because you skip meals too. But when we eat together you have proper meals" I yelled back.
"All this could have been avoided. If Just once you would have told me to marry you. You had a month, but not once you told me to marry you." Adhiraj said looking at me.
"What difference would that make?" I asked.
"I would have left everything and married you, in a heartbeat." Adhiraj yelled.
"I didn't want that. Your mother was already forcing you. I didn't want to add one more burden on you."
"You think you are a burden?" Adhiraj accused.
