Aadhya's POV:
Adhiraj made me sit on the couch of my room.
"This dress is heavy. I just can't wait to get out of it." I said moving uncomfortably.
"I can help you if you like." Adhiraj said with a mischievous smile. I rolled my eyes at that. "You looked so beautiful today." He said holding my chin and staring at my lips.
"I always look beautiful." I said grinning.
"Yes you do. But today you looked, mine." He said and kissed me. I kissed him back. I couldn't touch him as my hands were covered in henna. And he took advantage of it. And held my face to deepen the kiss. Before things could get further, we heard a knock on the door.
"Always at the wrong time." Adhiraj said and went to open the door. "He talked to the opposite person for some time and came inside with a plate of food.
"Here are some snacks for you." He said and sat beside me.
"But my hands are full." I said pouting.
"That is why I am here to feed you but first let me tie your hair." He said and walked to my dresser where there was a hair clip. He twisted my hair and put the clip. To stop my hair from falling on my face.
"Should I be worried?" He looked confused. "Where did you learn to tie a girl's hair?" He rolled his eyes at that.
"I used to tie your hair in college during exams. All the time. You are the one who taught me. Remember?"
"Did you tie someone else's hair like this? when I was not around." I asked, accusingly.
"There is only one woman in the world who gets princess treatment from me."
"Wrong. There are two women." I said correcting him.
"Who?"
"Your mom and me. I know you are angry with her right now. And that you are rebelling. But you have always treasured her. I have seen you during our college days. I know how much you love her. I know it's because of me."
"No. It's not because of you. It's because of her stubbornness. If she could just try and be understanding. It wouldn't have turned out this way." I took him in my arms.
"Let's not talk about it. We have our entire life ahead to think about all these. But we have only one and a half days of us being together." I said and smiled at him. He nodded his head, the brightness in his eyes dimed a little. To divert our mind he started feeding me the snacks he ordered.
_________________I changed my outfit after my henna dried. It was 7 pm by then. I was feeling fresh as I had taken an hour's rest. I thought of getting ready for the engagement party for Adhiraj. I walked to my bag and removed taruntahiliani champagne colour floral embroidery lehenga. Embellished with crystals and pearls. Paired with a drape blouse that is attached to the TT jeweled belt. I took the clutch that was made using the same material as my lehenga. I wore crystal embellished satin pumps from Gucci. My makeup was natural with nude lipstick. While I straightened my hair with middle parting. I did a once over and was satisfied with my look. By the time I got ready it was already 8 pm. I walked out to my balcony to see the guests had started arriving but Adhiraj's room was dark. As if no one was there inside. Confused I walked out of my hotel room to see trail of rose petals that lead towards the rooftop restaurant of the hotel. There was an envelope placed outside my room. I opened it to see Adhiraj's hand written note.
"You came into my life as a best friend."
It read. As I walked ahead and reached the steps, there was another envelope.
