Vikram's POV:
"Trying to distract me I see." Smiled Tina and gave me a mischievous look. "But it's not going to work." She said looking serious. Nothing can get past her. And I loved that about her.
"A man can at least try." I said smiling innocently.
"So tell me. What do you mean?" She said getting straight to business.
"Remember the day I went to meet Aadhya in her office."
"Yes. Adhiraj was out with some work that day. So you couldn't meet him." She said remembering the day.
"Yes. It's true I couldn't meet him. But not because he had gone somewhere out."
"Then why?"
"I couldn't meet him because he was hiding under Aadhya's desk that day."
"What? Why?"
"The door was locked when I knocked. Then when she opened it. I saw Adhiraj's reflection on the window of her office. Which was exactly behind her desk. The poor boy was trying to hide his huge body under that tiny desk. " I snickered.
"That reminds me of......"
"Our rousing events are not important right now." I said to stop her trail of thought. She loves bring up embarrassing stories.
"Yes. Sorry. Continue."
"So I saw him. But I didn't want to embarrass them so....." I saw her giving me that look. "What?"
"You didn't want to embarrass Aadhya? Really?"
"Okay. Okay. I didn't want to embarrass Adhiraj. So I didn't catch them red handed."
"Is that the reason why you planned this dinner?"
"I was worried and wanted to know more about it. And that time it was the only thing that came to my mind."
"So you told her about the dinner."
"Yes. I took one week's time to search for whatever I could about this."
"What did you find out?"
"They both were dating during college. Then Aadhya moved to Yale and Adhiraj came to work for me after he was done with his degree. But I didn't understand why they broke up?"
"So now what?"
"I didn't understand, then. So when I called Adhiraj to invite him and his fiancee for dinner, I asked him about their relationship."
"That was a smart move, my devil. What did you find out?"
"They were engaged to each other since they were 14. It was Adhiraj's father's last wish before he died."
"Oh my god. But what is the solution to this then. He can't break this engagement as it was his father's last wish."
"Yes. That is what I also thought. But my main concern was, why are they still together even after knowing everything."
"Was. Huh? So you know the answer to that?"
"I am not sure, if I know the answer to that question yet. It is just my guess. And it was the reason why I was so keenly watching all three of them. Amongst three I know Aadhya the most. I know Adhiraj a little and Ananta nothing at all. So my conclusion was on the basis of, first Aadhya and then Adhiraj."
"I get it. But what was your conclusion?"
"Aadhya was not at all unhappy or upset by Ananta's presence. While Adhiraj on the other hand was more concerned about Aadhya than Ananta if you see from an outsider's point of view."
