Ananta's POV:
"Why?" I whispered under my breath. But he heard it.
"I couldn't do that to her. In people's eyes I have been married to you for the last two months. I can't ask her to be another woman." He said smiling sadly.
"But you both love each other." I was confused.
"That doesn't mean, she will have to give away her self respect." He said laughing a little. "Come on. Don't concern yourself with these trivial matters. Let's have lunch together." He said and removed another tiffin from under his desk.
"We can go out and eat. You must have packed only for yourself." I said.
"It is more than enough for me. I don't eat much and half of my tiffin goes to people in the office." He said with a smile.
I looked towards the glass gap. I saw Aadhya looking at Adhiraj. She waited till Adhiraj started eating. Once she saw that he was eating properly she opened her tiffin and started eating herself. It hurt me seeing them like this.
'You both are miserable. You both love each other, to the brink of madness. You both care for each other more than yourself. How can fate be so cruel with you? Or is it me who has been cruel to you?' I thought. I couldn't stand seeing them like this. It was just too much to bare.
I stood up as if I was scared. God I was scared not of them but myself. I was scared of what I had done to make them so miserable. Adhiraj looked at me confused.
"I can't." I said desperately. I closed my eyes to get my thoughts together and I spoke again. "I mean mom must be waiting for me. She has lunch with me everyday. I don't think it will be right if I eat with you and not with her." I said. Adhiraj looked at me shocked and then nodded his head in understanding. I hurriedly said goodbye and left.
________________________Adhiraj's POV:
I saw her leaving hurriedly as if she was scared of something. Then I looked at Aadhya she was eating her meal quietly. I smiled and continued with my meal.
After sometime Aadhya came out of her cabin again. I looked at her.
"I am sorry for disturbing earlier. I didn't know someone was out here." She said looking around anything but me.
"You didn't disturb anyone here. Infact you could have joined us." I said doing my work on the laptop while seeing her from the corner of my eyes.
"I came out to invite you for dinner. This Saturday night, Vikram Bhai, Tina Bhabhi and Kartik are coming for dinner at my place. I just thought of inviting you. If you don't have any other plan with anyone else." She said nervously. I knew she desperately wanted to know, why Ananta was here? But because of her own rules she can't.
"I don't have any prior arrangements. But still I can't join you guys." I said looking at her. Trying to ease her mind.
"Why? Vikram Bhai would love it if you join." She said looking back at me.
"I know he would. But he will ask me about my wife and I don't want to talk about my personal life to anyone at this moment." I said trying to make her understand.
"It's already been two months. You can't run away forever. It would be better if you face it." She replied with that spark that I hadn't seen in a long time. "It's my suggestion as a friend." She said and just like that her eyes went dull again and she started walking back inside her office. But as soon as the door to her office was about to shut she peeped out, to look at me and said.
"My family respects others boundary. So they won't talk about your personal life if you don't want to." She closed the door behind her.
