"So tell me what we are going to do tonight?" Diya said from beside me. It was Saturday night, so I was free and Diya wanted to explore the pubs in Mumbai. Jennifer was on leave for this weekend. She had her grand daughter's birthday party. So she left on friday afternoon.
"Aren't you jet-lagged. Take a rest today."
"No from monday onwards you will be busy with your work. And on the weekend you have the event Vikram held for you. So no. We are going out tonight."
"Okay fine. Get ready. It is only 6 pm. I can take you to some nearby clubs at 10 pm and we can have some fun."
"Yay." She said and walked to the wardrobe to find something to wear. I walked back to my study to finish some work.
Just then the doorbell to my penthouse rang I opened the door to see Adhiraj standing there.
"Adhiraj" I whispered. Diya noticed and looked at the man who had just entered my house.
"Oh so he is Adhiraj?" She says loud enough for the entire building to hear. He looks at her confused.
"Oh I am Diya. Aadhya's friend from San Francisco. We worked in the same company. I have come here for a year's project. She was kind enough to let me stay at her place for a few days till I found somewhere to stay." I looked at her and sigh as usual Diya spoke more than necessary.
As if something clicked his mind he looked at me and then at her and smiled. Which made me look at him suspiciously.
"Oh yes. I heard her talking to you." He said while I looked at him confused. "Well, I was here to inform Miss. Verma about the meeting."
"Which meeting?" I asked, confused.
"The one with Mr. Anderson's. The meeting which was held for Tuesday is being pre-poned. He called and wanted to talk to you about the changes in the promotion of his book."
"But I already mailed him."
"He says it urgent and wants to do a meeting on video call with you, now."
Diya looked at me and smiled sadly.
"Don't worry you go ahead. I will sleep for sometime as also I am jet-lagged. We can go out later."
"Thank you, dear. I am so sorry for all these last minute things."
"No problem. You go."
"We can go clubbing. I will be done in an hour or two." I said check my watch.
"Okay I will be waiting. Bye."
"Bye."
"Bye Adhiraj. It was good to meet you. I hope you can join us." I looked at her shocked. While Adhiraj looked at her confused.
"We are going clubbing tonight. We would like it if you would join us." She said, smiling at him.
"I would love to join you girls." He said looking at me. I rolled my eyes at that.
"Great!" She exclaimed. "Aadhya will message you the timing and place." He nodded. His eyes not leaving mine.
She didn't know anything that was happening here so I knew she meant well but right now I didn't want to be around him for long.
"Sure." He said. Waiting for any reaction from me. I gave him a small smile.
"I'll just change give me a minute." I said.
"You look fine." Adhiraj said. I looked at my dress. It was a floral baby pink dress with two thin straps on my shoulder. It was decent for an online meeting so I just shrugged and collected my car keys and wallet. I wore white shoes and was ready.
