Aadhya's POV:
A week passed by and our escapade carried on. We went on dates and met secretly at my penthouse whenever Diya was not around.
We did all the things that we missed out in our last five years. We were living our dream. Like promised we didn't talk about anything else but us. Everything was going on smoothly and we forgot that once this month passes we will have to leave eachother and go on our separate ways.
Currently I was working in my office when my phone rang.
"Yes." I said in a professional voice.
"Mr Khanna is here to see you, mam." Adhiraj said.
"Send him in." I said. After a few minutes I heard my door open.
"I see you have forgotten how to knock." I said. My eyes are still on my laptop.
"You are supposed to enter the circle and arrange the next event for that." He said sitting opposite me.
"I am busy this month maybe next month."
"Then let your secretary arrange it." I looked at him this time.
"Keep him out of it." I said warning him.
"Still as protective of him, I see." He said mockingly.
"Kartik. Stay out of my business I am warning you." I said clenching my teeth.
"You are all I have Aadhya. I will save you from everyone even yourself." He said furiously.
"Kartik. I know you care. I know you have only me. As your family doesn't care for you but you must know there is a limit in friendship. You better stay in your limits." He stood up from his place and came to stand at the window. I turned my chair to face him.
"Aadhya. You know I have no limits. Especially for the ones I care about." He came to stand in front of me.
"Kartik. You must know I love him. You need to stop."
"But it is harming you."
"That's love Kartik. It hurts us to an extent that it breaks us."
"What do you want me to do? Just see you destroying yourself."
"No my stupid friend. I will need you. Soon. Stay by my side and help me divert my mind from the pain when the time is right."
"So you are going to do it. No matter what I say." I looked at him and smiled. He knew I would do it no matter what. He hugged me.
I knew what Kartik was afraid of. He has been through a lot since his childhood. They were three siblings. He was the middle one. The first one was loved by his mother to an extent she gets blinded when it comes to him. While his younger sister is the only daughter in the family so is loved by all. He was always left on his own to fend for himself. No matter what happens in his life, none of the members are interested. Nor do they care. That's the reason he stays alone. He has only a few people in his life and he cares about them more than himself. The list include me and Vikram Bhai.
I just wish he finds someone who can treasure his heart and know his true value. I smiled as this thought passed in my mind.
Suddenly the door of my office opened and Adhiraj entered. I pushed Kartik a little and turned to see Adhiraj.
"Your meeting with Mr. Patrick starts in 5 mins." He said. I tried to read his face but he had masked them well.
"Okay." I said giving him a small smile. "I need to leave, now. I will find someone to arrange that event." I said looking at Kartik.
