We settled on the couch of my living. Jennifer got us some refreshments.
"Why are you here Kartik?" I asked looking at him.
"You have come permanently to India. That's the news spreading in the circle. They want you to join the group again. You are alone and have no other friends here and I will be there with you." The circle he is talking about is the circle of high profile people. Initially when we were kids in school we made this group called Circle. I was the prime member of the group. The group is for better connection in the business as well as you get the inside information of people. It was good for me and the company.
"Okay. I will join when is the next event?" Circle has an event every month for the members. In these events we join together and many business deals are done. I know my brother will want me to grow Verma publications with my skills. As well as other business. So that he can see me as a successful woman in future. It will be good for me to be in the Circle for various reasons.
"It was a last week. So now it will be next month."
"Who is organising it this time?" The event is supposed to be organised by the members who are already a part of it.
"Me."
"Fine. If you need help don't ask me for it."
"That's the thing. I want you to handle this event for me. It will benefit you. You organizer this event and give an impressive come back. People must know Aadhya Verma is back." I thought about it. My events were always lavish and that made me in the top 3 list. If I give a lavish event now as soon as I am back. It will be the first step to get my position back.
"Fine. I will organise everything and finish the formalities with Adhiraj. He will get the papers for me to sign. He nodded his head at that and looked at me intently.
"You still love him." He noted.
"Love is the most vulnerable thing in the world. It can make you do things that you never imagined." I stated.
"Yes. Yes it does." We sat there in comfortable silence for sometime. Lost in our own thoughts.
Just then bell rang. Jennifer went to open the door.
"There is a courier for you, Aadhya." Jennifer said giving a brown envelope to me. I took it and kept it with the stack of scripts I had to read by tonight.
__________________I was sitting in my study reading the script Adhiraj left for me. When Adhiraj entered my office.
"Are you done reading the script, Ma'am?" He asked and took a seat opposite me.
"Stop with the Ma'am shit Aadi." I said still deep in reading.
"Why was Kartik here?" He suddenly asked. I was so engrossed in my work that I didn't realised when he came and stood behind me.
"He had some work with me." I said. I was still engrossed in my reading. I felt him massaging my shoulder.
I removed the read glass and closed my eyes. Feeling relaxed.
"You are working very hard since you have started working in the company." He said continuing massaging me.
"That's what a CEO is supposed to do." I let out a moan.
"Even CEO's can take a break for few hours. But you don't. You have submerged yourself so much in work that you don't have time for anything else. Not even yourself." He whispered.
"Aadi...... I think you must stop." I said inspite wanting completely different thing.
"But your body says otherwise." I could feel his breath against my ear.
