Chapter 53

Vikrant did not find anything amiss in Abha's behavior. There was nothing disturbing about the mild changes he had experienced earlier. He was getting angry at his children for doubting Abha. Instead of trusting the one who took care of them from childhood, they were trusting Jiya, who just came into their lives two years ago. They were arguing with their father to support her, which was disturbing to him.

Jiya was happy with her new life in Chandigarh. She used to go to school in the morning, and in her absence, Mallika used to take care of Jeevika. Aman and Mallika used to visit each other's houses. His parents loved Jivika a lot. Everyone loves to play with her. She has touched everyone's heart with her sweet words.

Aman and Mallika, along with Jivika, went to the park for a stroll. He said to her, "Jivi will start calling you grandmother in a few days, but what will she call me?"

"She will call you uncle. Whenever she sees you, she tries to call you by your name, Am, Am...Aman, in her baby language."

"If you don't mind, I want Jivika to call me grandfather." She was surprised to hear this.

"What do you want to say? Please say it clearly."

"I want to marry you. I've wanted to say this for a long time, but I couldn't. Since you came into my life, I have found a family. In Jiya, I have found my daughter. I have become so used to you people that when I go home, loneliness rushes to bite. I have also spoken to my parents about it; they are ready for our marriage. They love spending time with Jivika. When you all come home, it feels like my whole family has gathered."

Mallika got emotional to hear this.

"Honestly, I was also waiting for your proposal. When you are with me, it feels like I am not alone; you will take care of all my problems. If you had not been with me, it would have been difficult for me and Jiya to settle in an unknown city, and that too in the most difficult phase of our lives. You are the strong supporter who took care of us."

"Well, now don't say so many things; just tell me whether you are ready for marriage or not."

"I'm more than ready, but it is necessary to talk to Jiya about it once."

"Yes, it is. I have spoken to her, and it has also been decided that we will live together after marriage."

"This is the limit now; after talking to everyone, you are taking my opinion."

"Oh! Don't be angry. Now don't you start crying like Jeevika." As soon as Jivika heard the word cry, she remembered that she had to cry, and she started crying. "Let's go home; she must be missing her mom."

"Hmmm. I wish! If Vikrant had cried like this in the memory of Jiya, it would have cooled my heart a little."

"Don't worry, that day will come."

It was Saturday today. Anu, Mayank, and Vikrant were swimming in a pool at home. Abha brought juice for the three of them to drink. After some time, everyone went to their respective rooms.

Vikrant was tired of swimming, so he fell asleep as soon as he lay down. He suddenly opened his eyes and stood up. Both the body and the mind were in a state of restlessness. In the dream, he had seen himself and Jiya in an intimate position. It's been a year since she left him, but he had never had such a dream.

He was feeling restless. He drank a glass of water and took a cold shower. After taking a cold shower, his mind calmed. Well, he ignored it. After a few days, after drinking milk at night, he again felt the same restlessness and anguish. When he picked up the bottle to drink water from,  it was empty. Then he went to the kitchen to get water; there was not a single bottle in the fridge or outside.

Seeing this, he got angry, and in anger, the bottle fell from his hand, which opened Abha's eyes, and she came to the kitchen in a nightdress.

"What happened? Do you need anything?"

Seeing Abha in the semi-transparent night dress increased his restlessness even more. He didn't understand what was happening to him; his emotions were running like a wild horse. He somehow controlled himself and started scolding her.

"Why didn't you keep a bottle of water in my room? There is no bottle in the fridge or outside. My throat is drying up." Abba pressed his hand lightly and began to smile.

"Stay calm. Go to your room; I'll get you some water."

Vikrant quietly went to his room. A few seconds later, the water came.
"Is it enough water to quench your thirst, or do you need more?"

Vikrant swallowed all the water in one breath and lay down with his eyes closed. She began caressing his hair.

"Is your health okay?" As soon as she touched him, his heart started pounding. When Vikrant did not respond, she got up and started walking away.

"Abha I can't sleep; can you sit with me for a while?"

Instead of sitting on the couch, Abha sat beside his pillow. She began to massage his head with love.

"After Jiya left you, you had fully immersed yourself in work. This is not good for your health. You need to rest."

Vikrant's mind was wandering in another direction at this moment. Abha was slowly getting closer to him, and he didn't stop her. The touch of the Abha was stirring suppressed emotions in him. It was becoming difficult to control his emotions.

He took a step forward. He was about to kiss Abha's lips when a knock on the door stopped him. Abha, in a hurry, went to the bathroom and hid. He opened the door and saw Anu standing outside.

"What's the matter? Why didn't you sleep?"

"Daddy, first, tell me, why are you sweating? Are you okay?"

"Yes, everything is fine. The air conditioner is not working properly, so it's a  little hot here."

"Why don't you go and sleep in Mayank's room?"

"I'm fine here. Leave all these things. Can you tell me why you have come here at this time?"

"I missed my mom. I went to aunt's room, but she was not there, so I came to you."

"Okay, you go to your room; I am coming there to sit with you."

"Yes daddy."

"As Anu leaves, Vikrant asks Abha to come out."

"Anu is gone; you can come out."

Abha had come out and was looking at Vikrant with hopeful eyes.।

"Abha I am going to Anu's room. After some time, you also come. Please sleep with Anu, as she is missing her mother today."

"Okay Vikrant."

"Sorry, Abha; forgive me for whatever happened today."

She did not say anything and left without responding. Vikrant sat beside Anu for some time and went to sleep in his room. With all his heart, he was thanking God that, through Anu, he saved him from making a huge mistake. Abha was getting angry, thinking that instead of sleeping with Vikrant, she had to sleep with Anu.
