Chapter 59
It had been more than a week since Vikrant had been in Chandigarh. One day, he reached her school in the afternoon to pick her up. When Jiya came out of her school, she saw Vikrant standing outside with Jivika in his arms.
She was surprised to see him outside the school.
"Why didn't you tell me you would come to school?""What happened? Didn't you like it?"
"No, it's not like that. Everyone is looking at you."
Just then, two or three colleagues came to meet Vikrant.
" Is this your husband, Jiya?""Yes, he is my husband, Vikrant Kapoor. Dear, they all work with me in school."
"Hello, Mr. Vikrant".
"Hello."
"Jivika seems to be a carbon copy of you."
On hearing this, Vikrant's face lit up with a big smile.
"When did you come from Australia?"
On hearing this, Vikrant started looking at Jiya.
"I just got here; it's been a week.'
After talking for some time, Jiya and Vikrant left the place.
"Your colleagues were like journalists from some news channel. They were asking so many questions."
Hearing this, she started laughing.
"Actually, they have seen you after a long time; it's quite obvious they will ask questions.""Why did you tell them I was in Australia?"
"So what would I have told them? The world kills a single woman by asking her questions. I tell them about you to calm their curiosity. By the way, you did a good thing by coming to school; people will at least believe now that I am a married woman and Jeevika is my legitimate daughter.
Thank God that Jivi resembles you; otherwise, a DNA test would have had to be done to prove that she is your daughter."
"Please don't embarrass me anymore. I am so ashamed in my own eyes."
"When are you going back to Mumbai?"
"There's a flight tomorrow night."
"Hmmm."
"Would you come to drop me off at the airport?"
"No. Vikrant, we are closed to home; please take Jivi into your arms."
Mallika was happy to see Jiya and Vikrant together. It was her heart's desire that both of them sort out their differences and live like a happy family once again.
In the evening, Vikrant had gone out for some work. Jivika was playing. Jiya was sitting and watching her fondly.
Mallika said, "What did you think of Vikrant?"
"Nothing. We can no longer live together as husband and wife, but yes, we will take full responsibility for being parents."
"Stop this nonsense. He has realized his mistake. He apologized too. Now what do you want? Everybody makes mistakes; life gives you a second chance. Don't let go of his hand.
Children need both of their parents together. Don't think about yourself; think about your daughter.
Think about it from Vikrant's point of view. It's natural to get mad with anger when you see your wife in someone else's arms. Not only you, but he is also a victim of Abha's conspiracy. In this, you have not suffered alone; he has suffered too. His children are so good; they love you so much. Don't break up the family."
Mallika started telling her about Anu's phone. "The children did not take the side of Abha in front of Vikrant and took your side. That's a very big thing. You can't change the past, but you can change the future. Think about your decision again."
Mallika went to her room irritated, and Jiya was thinking about Vikrant.
After some time, when Vikrant came home, he had brought a lot of toys for Jeevika. The moment she saw the toys, she started clapping.
"I have brought these anklets and evil eye bracelets for Jivi; put them on her feet and hands."
"Just hold her for two minutes, and I'll make her wear it."
In Jivi's small feet and hands, both things were looking beautiful. Vikrant had become emotional, thinking that he had to leave his angel tomorrow.
"Jiya It's a request; don't say no. Can you come with Jivi to drop me off at the airport tomorrow? As long as I am here, I want my daughter to be in front of my eyes."
Seeing the tears in Vikrant's eyes, Jiya said yes.At night, Jivika slept on Vikrant's lap. Jiya was also getting emotional seeing Jivi sleep peacefully with her father. It was heartbreaking to think that Vikrant would not be here tomorrow.
Vikrant thought that Jiya would not go to school in the morning, but she left for school. It was important for him to go to Mumbai; the children were waiting, and then the office was also there. He had thought that as soon as Mayank grew up, he would leave the office in his hands, retire, and spend the rest of his life comfortably with Jiya.
Mallika had also gone with Jiya to drop Vikrant off at the airport, as it was not easy for her to handle Jivika alone.
The whole way, Jivika was in the lap of Vikrant. When the time came to go inside the airport, Jiya started taking Jivi from his lap, but she was not leaving her daddy. When she tried to take her forcefully, she started crying. She also realized that Vikrant was leaving her.
Seeing Jivi cry like this, both Jiya and Vikrant's hearts were heavy.
Jiya was trying to calm her by holding her in her arms, but she was incessantly crying.Mallika said, "You go, Vikrant; if you stay in front of her, she will keep crying."
"Thank you, Mrs. Mallika, for taking care of Jiya and Jivika. I will forever be grateful to you for all that you have done for my wife and daughter."
"Whatever I did, I did it for my daughter. She was my daughter before she was your wife."
Today, Vikrant hugged Mallika for the first time and thanked her. He had started respecting Mallika from the bottom of the bottom of his heart.
"Daddy will come soon to pick up Jivi and her mother."
He hugged Jivi and Jiya while leaving and went away.
Jiya had hidden her tears with great difficulty, which flowed as soon as Vikrant left.
She was crying on the way to home. Without Vikrant, the house seemed empty. All of a sudden, life began to change again. It was a strange state of mind. After he left, her eyes filled with tears.
The next morning, when she opened an almirah to take out the saree to go to school, a bag was there.
The bag had a beautiful pink saree and a gold chain with Jeevika written on it. There was a small note inside the envelope.
"Jivika means Jiya and Vikrant. We'll never be apart again. I'll be back soon to pick you up and our little girl. Wear this saree and chain when you come to pick me up at the airport. The word sorry is too small in front of what I did, so I will not use this word.
All I can say is that I'm ashamed of what I did. Jiya belongs to Vikrant Kapoor and will always remain so. I want to forget the past and make a new beginning with you. Will you start a new journey with me?"
