Chapter 61

Vikrant and Abha were in the library.

"Yes, what's your problem with me?"

"Vikrant I don't have a problem with you; I have a problem with your behavior. I am being neglected in this house. All the responsibilities have been taken away from me. You've stopped talking to me. When I don't have any importance here, then what is the point of living at this home?"

"Why are you saying this? You've got everything in this house, and still you are complaining. You are getting a salary without doing any work, you have a house to live in, and you are getting cooked food, yet you are not happy. Tell me, What can I do to bring joy to your face?"

"Why are you avoiding me? I can't bear your indifference towards me."

"I don't understand the meaning of this. Say it clearly."

"You don't talk to me; you don't eat anything I make; you don't even look at me."

"I don't understand why you are expecting all these things from me. You are not my wife; you are my children's nanny. Have you forgotten your limits?"

Abba was burning with anger today. She was tired of playing the goddess of sacrifice, the selfless woman. She was desperate for Vikrant's loving touch.

"Yes, I forgot my limit. Boundaries create suffocation. If I hadn't kept my emotions suppressed for eleven years, things might have been different today. I love you, Vikrant, not from today but from years ago. I'm not just their nanny; I have taken care of them like a mother.

I was living in the hope that one day you would see my kind heart and marry me, but nothing of the sort happened. I kept waiting for the right time to speak my heart out to you, but that right time never came, and you suddenly brought Jiya into this house. She took my house, my children, everything from me."

"Stop the fucking shit. You are talking as if you have a right over this house, over me. She didn't do any of that.

Abha, I respect the fact that you have brought up my children with so much love, and that's the only reason I never asked you to leave your job, even after the children grew up. I let you live in this house as a member of this house and give every comfort that the member of the house gets."

"I didn't want your respect; I wanted your love."

"You are not ashamed to say all this to a married man?"

"For eleven years, because of this shame, I could not speak my heart to you, but now I can't tolerate this loneliness. I need you with me."

"Jiya is still alive, Abha, and we are not even divorced."

"Then divorce her. Anyway, she has left you already."

"She is not ready to divorce me."

"Give some money; she will happily divorce you, and if money does not seem to make a difference, then that CD is enough to prove her characterless in court. Threaten her that you will make that CD viral in the media; in two seconds, she will be ready to give you divorce."

On hearing this, Vikrant's blood started boiling. He had just raised his hand to slap her, but she held his hand.

"I am not Jiya, who will bear your slap silently."

"You're one hundred percent right. You are nothing in comparison to her. I've never seen a woman as wicked as you. You have so much poison in your heart for my Jiya, I didn't know."

"How can you forget she has cheated you? She slept with your nephew in your own bed. In the CD, she was taking Rahul's name again and again like a slut."

Vikrant angrily grabbed her by the neck. "How do you know so much about that CD? If you try to lie, I won't take long to strangle you."

Vikrant knew the truth but still wanted to hear it from her mouth.

"What will you gain by killing me? Your wife has slept with Rahul. Neither you nor God can change this fact."

"Stop talking nonsense; just answer the question I'm asking."

The grip of Vikrant's hands was getting stronger on her neck. She began to choke.

"Yes, it was all my plan. It was I who used to feed Jiya the pills that increase sex drive by mixing them in food and juice. I had given her sleeping pills mixed in juice on the day of the accident. I admit I did it all, but I did it all to get your love."

"How can you think you can get someone's love by doing such disgusting things?"

"What I got after being so nice for so many years. At least my heart was satisfied by doing what I wanted to do. I have given eleven years of my life to your children in this house. What did I get in return? I longed for one glance of you, and you never looked at me."

"Why would I have looked at you when I have never loved you? I have loved Neera and, after her death, Jiya. I never thought of you in that way; I was far from wanting you, even for a moment. Did I force you to work? Did I ever beg you that Abha don't leave my children? What will happen to them if you leave?

You have given this house eleven years of your life willingly because my children never considered you as their nanny. They have always loved you like their mother. In this house, you got that luxury, which only the members of the house had the right to have.

If I had thought of you only as the nanny of the children, I would have kept you in the servant quarters and not in my own house. You gave your eleven years to this house because you had every kind of comfort here that you would not have gotten if you had a job elsewhere.

In my house, you were living as the mistress of the house, and if you worked somewhere, you would have remained a servant. You stayed in my house for your benefits and the comforts that you were getting for free. We considered you part of our family, and in return, you tried to break my house and put my wife in front of another man.

She was younger than you; at least you should have cared about her age."

"Don't talk about her young age. It doesn't suit you."
She was talking so much filth about their relationship that it was difficult for Vikrant to hear. He wanted Abha's matter to end here within this library, but she was not ready to be silent. She was threatening to make the video of Jiya and Rahul viral.

Vikrant had called up police inspector Manoj Patil. After some time, he came with the lady constable and took Abha with him. She made a lot of fuss while going. Anu and Mayank had seen this terrible face of Abha for the first time, and both of them were frightened to see her in this situation.

Vikrant did not want to hand over Abha to the police but had to do so because of her threats. He could not allow Jiya's respect to be harmed at any cost. He had explained to Inspector Manoj Patil that the matter should not reach the media.

He had always considered Abha a member of the house and respected her from the heart. Even after the children grew up, he did not remove her from the job. He had also bought a house in her name so that if she ever left her job, she would have a house of her own to live in.

The sad part was that Abha had no regrets about her mistake. If she had apologized for her mistake, he would have forgiven her. But far from apologizing, she began to threaten him. He had no option but to call the police.

One thing he learned from Abha's experience was that human beings should never kill their desires. The suppressed desires take the form of frustration with time, and due to this, the person does something that is completely opposite to his personality.
