Author POV

Monday morning dawns bright and beautiful, the perfect start to a new week. Our Riya is getting ready for college, radiating positivity and excitement. With only a few more months until graduation, she is thrilled to be one step closer to achieving her dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. After completing her morning routine, Riya rushes to the kitchen with a bright smile, wishing her family a cheerful "Good morning!"

Riya POV

"Good morning, Paa! Good morning, Bhai!" Riya cheerfully greeted her father and older brother, who returned her joy with equally warm smiles. Turning to her younger siblings, she playfully teased, "Good morning, Bandhar and Tamatar!" They both responded in unison, "Good morning, Moti!" with matching enthusiasm.

As Riya was about to wish her mother, Good Morning Ma.. she hesitated and painfully stopped, saying, Sorry, Good morning Ma'am." Her mother completely ignored Riya's presence, turning instead to Meenu and Aryan. With a warm smile, she said, "Good morning, my dear Meenu and Aryan."

Author POV

Seeing this, Riya's face turned pale and sad. The breakfast table fell into an awkward silence. After finishing her meal, Riya said her goodbyes to everyone, but as she was about to leave, her father stopped her. Her father said, "Beta, please don't be sad because of your mother's behaviour. Seeing you sad breaks my heart. You know she's always been a bit distant towards you and Vijay. But that doesn't mean she hates you both; she just shows her love in her way."

Riya interjected before her father could continue, "It's okay, Paa. I understand that Maa's love for me and bhai is different. But that won't stop me from working hard to make her proud. One day, she'll smile at me genuinely, just like she does with Meenu and Aryan. She'll also be proud of her elder daughter. But for now, I need to go. I'm running late for college, and if I'm tardy, Mauli and Nandhini will blast my head by complaining that they are late because of me and lastly Ms D'souza will fry our brains with her scolding."

"So to avoid that I shall take my leave now," Riya said with a determined smile, heading off to college. Neil watched his daughter go, his heart warmed by her kindness and unwavering resolve.
