Rajeev's POV
I was in a tense meeting with Vikram in my office. He was ranting about the Useless Scorpion Gang and their plans to steal "The Black Dragon's consignment." Despite his urgency, I silenced him with a dismissive wave, stating that I had already taken care of the matter. Frustrated, Vikram demanded, "What have you done to protect the consignment from getting stolen?" I leaned back in my chair, a lazy smirk playing on my lips. "Trust me, Vikram, I've got this." His frustration boiled over, and he stormed out, shouting, "To hell with your assurance, Rajeev. If we lose another consignment like this, don't come to me saying 'You missed something.'" With that, he slammed the door behind him.
I reclined in my chair, the echoes of Vikram's words reverberating in my mind. He wasn't wrong; the Scorpions had managed to steal the previous consignment. But that was part of my plan. The last consignment, worth 50 crores, was bait. I wanted it stolen to confirm there was a spy within the company and to expose the Black Dragon's Gang leaking information to the Scorpions. I had devised a plan to shake the Scorpions to their core.
My thoughts were interrupted by the door slamming open. Kabir and Ranveer barged in, their faces contorted with fury and exhaustion. Their sudden entrance, initially infuriating, quickly diminished my rage as I took in their dishevelled states. "WHAT?" I barked, my voice echoing in the room.
Kabir and Ranveer, seething with anger, grabbed my collar and yanked me from my seat. "This is all your fault, dumb head, that we're going through this training torture!" Kabir spat out. I couldn't help but laugh at their miserable state, prompting Ranveer to land a punch on my jaw. The shock of it ignited my fury, and I retaliated instantly, gripping their necks with a strangling force, and cutting off their air supply. Being taller and stronger, I easily tackled them, throwing them onto the couch in my office.
They lay there, breathing heavily, sweat soaking through their clothes. After a moment, they stood up, their eyes blazing with rage. "You had the power to help us, but you didn't. WHY?" Their voices trembled with anger. I responded coldly, "I don't need to waste my time and power on someone as useless, unworthy, and jobless as you."
Their eyes darkened with fury. "We are not jobless. We do have jobs!" Kabir retorted. I cut him off, mocking, "Yeah, yeah, that unclassy singer's job of yours." I adjusted my suit, made my way back to my seat, and sat down, watching them seethe with frustration.
Before they exited, Ranveer cursed me, "You act all high and mighty because of your overconfidence, ego, and power. But one day, these things will drag you down to the greater darkness of hell."
I laughed, replying, "I bet that day will never come, Ranveer, because I'm Rajeev Raichand, The Great."
Kabir added, "I pray to God that someone will bring all your arrogance and ego to an end, making you fall on your knees, and leave you all alone in this world."
After they left, I dismissed their statements with a scoff. My father had always taught me, "A king never bows to anyone." To me, Ranveer and Kabir were always losers who lacked ambition and drive. Their passion for music was laughable in my eyes; their so-called jobs were no better than being unemployed and worthless. My greatest life lesson had been that love and other foolish emotions only make us weak. In the most brutal and unforgiving way, I learned that only money and power could earn the respect and power we crave.
The rest of the day was consumed with work. I had a meeting with the board of directors, discussing the quarterly financial reports and future investments. As usual, I led the meeting with a confident stride, outlining our next strategic moves and ensuring everyone was aligned with our goals.
As the day drew to a close, I meticulously reviewed the security protocols for the upcoming consignment. I couldn't afford any mistakes. This time, everything had to go according to plan. The spy within us would soon be revealed, and I would make sure they faced the full wrath of their betrayal towards the Raichands and The Black Dragons.
By 9 PM, I finally called it a day. Stepping out of my office, I couldn't shake off Ranveer and Kabir's words. They were wrong. No one could bring me down. I was Rajeev Raichand, and I was untouchable.
Stepping into the elevator, I looked at my reflection in the mirrored walls. The confident, powerful man staring back at me was a testament to my ambition and drive. I had built an empire, and nothing and no one could take that away from me.
I reached my penthouse at 10 PM, exhausted yet satisfied with the day's accomplishments. After a quick shower, I felt a little more relaxed as the hot water washed away the day's stress. Wrapping a towel around myself, I headed to the kitchen, where the maids had left my dinner neatly covered.
I heated the food, savouring the aromas that filled the kitchen. The simple act of preparing my meal provided a rare moment of solitude and calm amidst the chaos of my life. Once the food was warm, I plated it and carried it to the dining table.
As I ate, I reflected on the day's events and the challenges ahead. The taste of the meal was comforting, a small but welcome reminder of normalcy in my otherwise turbulent existence. The quiet of the penthouse, punctuated only by the hum of the city outside, was a stark contrast to the intense confrontations and high-stakes decisions that filled my day.
After finishing my meal, I cleaned up and made my way to the bedroom. The city's lights cast a soft glow through the large windows, creating a serene ambience. I slipped into bed, the cool sheets a welcome respite for my tired body.
Lying there, I allowed my mind to wander briefly before focusing on the tasks and challenges that awaited me tomorrow. With a deep breath, I closed my eyes, letting sleep overtake me, confident and resolute.
