Neil POV

When I entered our room, I saw Ragini lying on the bed, her back turned to me. I moved to the other side and lay down, my mind racing about how Ragini humiliated Riya at the dinner table tonight. The memory gnawed at me, and I couldn't hold back any longer.

Without hesitation, I broke the silence. "I don't understand your problem with Riya and Vijay," I said, my voice steady but laced with frustration. "And I don't think that child has ever bothered you or acted like a brat. So, my question is, why do you behave like this when she hasn't done anything wrong to you?"

I waited for a response, but the room remained eerily quiet. Ragini's stillness only fueled my irritation. "Ragini," I said more firmly, "don't pretend to be asleep when I know you are wide awake."

Finally, the silence shattered with Ragini's voice, cold and resolute. "Mainne kabhee us ladakee aur ladake ko apana bachcha nahin maana. mere lie Meenu aur Aryan hee hamaare ikalaute bachche hain, vo nahin," she said, her tone devoid of emotion. (I have never considered that girl and boy as our children. For me, Meenu and Aryan are our only children, not them.)

Her words struck me like a bolt of lightning, leaving a deep wound in my heart. Shock and pain surged through me, and my anger flared, but I restrained myself. Yelling would wake the children, and I didn't want to disrupt their sleep. Taking a deep breath, I forced my voice to remain calm, though it was tinged with anger. "Are you out of your mind, Ragini? Do you even know what you're saying? Since when did you become so cold-hearted?"

Ragini's response was immediate and defiant. "Aap jaanate hain ki main un bachchon ke saath aisa vyavahaar kyon karati hoon, aur mujhe unhen yah bataane mein koee aapatti nahin hai ki aisa kyon hai," she said, her voice unwavering. (You know why I treat those kids like that, and I don't mind telling them why.)

Before she could say more, I cut her off sharply. "Isake baare mein socho bhee mat. Main tumhen chetaavanee de raha hoon," I warned, my voice low and menacing. (Don't even think about that. I'm warning you.)

Ragini met my gaze for a moment, then turned her face away, dismissing me as she settled back into bed. The silence that followed was thick with unresolved tension. I lay there, staring at the ceiling, my mind churning with turmoil. No matter what, this dark truth couldn't reach Riya and Vijay. I resolved to protect them from this painful reality at any cost.

End of Neil's POV

On the other side, It was past midnight, and while most people slept peacefully, the Beast exited his office and took the elevator to the parking lot. The lift reached the basement and opened, revealing the Beast striding towards his car. He unlocked it with a swift motion and sped away, the engine roaring as he pushed it to its limits.

He drove to his secluded mansion and parked the car. A dangerous, proud smirk played on his lips as he entered his domain. The maids were absent, which was fortunate; the Beast rarely visited this remote estate, far from the bustling city. Rajeev usually stayed in his city apartment, only coming to this mansion for significant reasons. Tonight was one of those rare occasions, and the air seemed to crackle with the weight of his purpose.

Entering his mansion, Rajeev walked up the stairs to his room, changing into old clothes before making his way to the dark basement. He accessed it through a secret door, activated by his voice and thumbprint. Walking through the dimly lit corridors lined with numerous rooms, he finally entered a specific chamber.

The room was dimly illuminated by a small bulb, and the only ventilation came from a tiny window high on the wall. As he stepped further inside, his eyes fell upon a woman chained to a chair. She looked exhausted and drenched in sweat, her weariness evident in every breath. Rajeev's presence seemed to fill the room with a menacing aura, the air thick with tension and unspoken dread.
