Author POV
In the heart of the city stood a massive corporation, renowned not only for its remarkable success but also for its illustrious owner. Rajeev Raichand, the young and dynamic business tycoon, and sole heir of the RAR Group of Companies, stood by his office window, gazing at the bustling cityscape from his luxurious office. His pride was palpable, a mix of glory and arrogance, as he revelled in the success he had crafted. Under his leadership, the RAR Group of Companies had soared to unprecedented heights, becoming the number one business in the world.
This unparalleled success made RAR the ultimate dream destination for countless professionals. Despite its stringent rules and regulations, many would go to great lengths to secure even the most basic position within its ranks, drawn by the generous pay scale, extensive benefits, substantial bonuses, and numerous other perks. The allure of RAR was undeniable, and its reputation as a beacon of excellence only continued to grow.
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in," he commanded with a cold, rough voice that could send shivers down anyone's spine. A girl named Stella with golden hair and blue eyes entered the room. "Excuse me, Sir. Good day. I would like to inform you that the candidates for the Personal Assistant role have arrived. Could you please let me know when we can start the interviews, and who will be conducting them?"
Rajeev responded, "Send them in. I will interview them personally. Also, hand over their resumes before they come in."
Stella was taken aback, her shock evident. She knew her boss's temper all too well and was aware that he had zero tolerance for even the smallest mistakes or faults from the candidates. A wave of dread washed over her as she realized this situation might prolong her notice period. Until she found a suitable replacement, she couldn't leave her job, and the delay was now threatening to postpone her wedding. She felt a pang of sadness at the thought of her plans being derailed.
Few Hours Later.....
Chaos reigned inside Rajeev's office as a candidate after candidate emerged in tears or anger, each spending no more than five minutes with the formidable business tycoon. Stella, standing outside, silently prayed for someone who could finally be a good fit for the Personal Assistant role. Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a voice behind her, making her jump. To her surprise, it was Piyush Khanna, Rajeev's childhood friend, who rarely visited.
"Where are you lost, Stella? Dreaming of me?" Piyush teased playfully.
"No, sir," Stella replied, composing herself. "It's just that you visit so rarely, I was wondering what brought you here today."
Smiling, Piyush responded, "Nothing much, Stella. I have some important business with your boss, so I had to come all the way here."
"Okay, Mr. Khanna, but you might have to wait for a bit. Sir is currently interviewing candidates for the PA role."
Piyush was taken aback. "Are you serious, Stella? You are quitting your job? Why? Did my good friend do something to you?"
Stella shook her head. "No, sir, it's nothing like that. I'm getting married and will be moving back to Brazil with my husband."
"Congratulations, Stella! I think I came at the right time because I need to talk to Rajeev about this job situation. I better go in and calm my best friend," Piyush said with a reassuring smile, heading towards Rajeev's office.
Rajeev POV
Stupid Stella. She doesn't even know how to select candidates for her role. She just wants to escape this place, appointing someone who is of no use to my company. But I won't let any unfit person dare to raise their head or even think about coming into my company. My anger surged, aimed at torturing Stella for doing her work in such haste. But I can't do anything because, all these years, Stella has been a great asset to my company, and her work is always crystal clear. So, I suppressed my anger and prepared to deal with the next candidate.
My thoughts were abruptly interrupted when my office door flung open with a bang. I looked up to see who had the guts to break into my office like that.
For a moment, I was shocked to see Piyush, my childhood friend, standing there with a mischievous smile. From that grin, I knew he was here to become a pain in my ass.
Rajeev's cold voice cut through the tension in the room. "What brings you here, Piyush?". Piyush put on a dramatic act, clutching his chest. "OMG, please don't talk to me like that! Oh, my poor heart, Rajeev!" he said teasingly. Rajeev growled in frustration. "If you're here for some other nonsense, I'd say today is not the day." But the next words from Piyush left Rajeev stunned. "I want to be your PA, so I'm here to talk about that." Rajeev stared at him incredulously. "Did you hit your head somewhere, Piyush? Since when did you have the idea to work and earn money?" he asked with a mischievous smile.
"You know my dad, 'The Marvelous Manav Khanna,'" Piyush said dramatically. "He just told me to grow up and stop wasting his money on stupid things. He asked me to learn something from you, 'The Great Rajeev Raichand.'"
Rajeev chuckled. "I think your dad is right, Piyush. You should grow up and do something meaningful. After all, you're a gold medalist in MBA, graduated from the top university with excellent grades."
Piyush sighed theatrically. "Yes, I know. So, I asked him to hand over his company so he could rest, and I would take care of the business. But no, he told me to gain some experience from outside and prove I'm capable of handling his business. So, here I am, and to my luck, the personal assistant role is vacant!" Piyush finished happily.
Rajeev took a moment to think. Before he could answer, Piyush began his dramatic act again. "I know, bro, you'll think the same as my father. It's okay, I understand. I'll get going."
Just as Piyush turned to leave, Rajeev's words made him freeze in place.
"YOU ARE HIRED."
