The Next Morning
Riya's POV
I couldn't sleep the entire night, my mind buzzing with anticipation for today's interview at Up View Company. I had meticulously researched the company and pored over my finance books, preparing myself as thoroughly as possible. Despite the sleepless night, I woke up with newfound energy. After my morning routine, I dressed sharply, ready to make a good impression.
Descending the stairs, I greeted everyone as usual. At breakfast, I hurriedly stuffed food into my mouth, prompting my dad to chuckle and say, "Don't worry, your food isn't going anywhere."
My brother and younger siblings joined in, teasing in unison, "You do look like a panda, Motti." I shot them a glare, but couldn't help but smile at their playful banter.
Once I managed to swallow my food, I turned to my dad. "Paa, today is my interview at 10 AM," I explained, glancing at the clock. "And it's already 9 AM." The urgency in my voice was clear, and the household buzzed with supportive excitement, everyone wishing me luck as I prepared to leave.
I took the bus and reached the venue in 15 minutes. As I looked at the company building, "Wow" seemed like an understatement. The structure before me was awe-inspiring, despite being modest in size compared to the towering skyscrapers surrounding it. The architecture of "Up View" was a masterpiece, a testament to the designer's knowledge, experience, and passion. I stood there, practically drooling over the elegant lines and thoughtful design of the building.
Without wasting any more time, I entered the building and headed straight to the front desk. The receptionist, a strikingly beautiful woman, greeted me with a professional smile. Her green eyes sparkled, and her long hair framed her face perfectly.
"Welcome my name is Adalina Johnson," she said warmly. "How can I assist you today?"
"I'm here for an interview," I replied, trying to sound confident.
Adalina nodded, her demeanour impeccably professional. "Please take the lift to the third floor and wait in the waiting room for your turn."
I thanked her and made my way to the elevator, my nerves tingling with anticipation. As the doors closed, I took a deep breath, ready to face the challenge ahead.
As I reached the floor, I found many candidates just like me waiting for their turn. This is where I felt a surge of nervousness, but I refused to let it show on my face. Instead, I masked it with a light smile and took a seat, waiting for my name to be called. After what felt like an eternity, but was only about 20 minutes, my name was finally called. I stood up with confidence, and a man in his thirties wished me luck as I headed into the interview room.
Inside, I saw three people seated, their expressions unreadable. I asked for permission to enter, and they gestured for me to come in with straight faces. My nerves were on edge, but I managed to calm myself by taking deep breaths.
A barrage of questions came my way, each one more challenging than the last. I carefully considered each question, taking my time to respond thoughtfully. The man on my right, who appeared to be in his forties, finally spoke up. "Please wait outside for the next round."
Relief washed over me—I had cleared the first round. My heart swelled with joy, but I kept my composure. I firmly believe that celebrating too early could lead to disappointment. I stepped out of the room, more determined than ever to see this through to the end.
After a long day filled with countless interviews, I finally exited the building at 7 PM, utterly exhausted. I hadn't anticipated so many stages, but each one felt worthwhile, and I was satisfied with my choice with Up View Company. As I walked to the station and waited for my bus, I replayed the day's events in my mind. I still couldn't believe I had cleared all the rounds and felt a strong sense that I would be hired. The panel members mentioned I would receive an email regarding my performance results.
