Rajeev's POV
After the press conference, the three of us went back to my penthouse, hoping to get some rest. Just as we were beginning to relax, Rupali entered the room with a loud bang, nearly breaking the door off its hinges. She looked both frustrated and relieved at the same time.
Like a curious cat, Piyush asked, "Haayae meree jaan, ye kaun see khabar hai jo tere chehare par mile-jule bhaav dikh rahe hain?" (Hey, my love, what's the news that has your face showing mixed emotions?) Rupali rolled her eyes and went straight towards Vikram.
She threw the file she had in her hand to Vikram and said, "The Riya you've been worrying and depressed about has regained consciousness, and those are the files related to her health which clearly say that she is out of danger."
Vikram's eyes widened, and he quickly flipped through the file. A smile appeared on his face, clearly showing his relief from the guilt he had been carrying. Seeing this, Rupali turned to leave but stopped in her tracks, adding sharply, "Now that she is stable, don't bother me or drive me crazy asking about that woman."
Vikram just nodded his head, and Rupali left the room.
Seeing all this, I couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you being too hard on Rupali, Vikram?"
Vikram replied, "I don't think so, Rajeev."
Piyush interrupted us and said, "Bro, can't you see that she is madly in love with you?"
I added, "And you're hurting her in the worst way, Vikram. Don't do this to her."
Vikram responded, "First of all, I'm not hurting her. Second, she's getting a taste of her own medicine."
I sighed. "You know I don't believe in love and marriage, but seeing Rupali, I can say she is the one for you, bro. And you're hurting her."
Vikram fell quiet.
Piyush said, "One day, she's going to leave you, and you're going to regret this, Vikram."
Vikram's eyes darkened, and without saying anything further, he left the penthouse.
Rajeev and Piyush exchanged worried glances, realizing the depth of Vikram's internal struggle and hoping he would come to his senses before it was too late.
Neil's POV
I was at the hospital with Riya, and Meenu and Aryan joined me after their school. After Riya regained consciousness, I tried talking to her and cheering her up, but she didn't speak and rarely nodded her head.
I saw Meenu and Aryan talking to Riya. Meenu said, "Di, do you remember the project we made together with Bhai? You won't believe it, Aryan and I won the first prize!" She said happily, trying to cheer Riya up. Aryan continued, "The credit goes to you, Di." Riya just looked up at Meenu and nodded her head.
Not losing hope, Meenu and Aryan said, "Thank you so much. You are the world's best Di," and they hugged her tightly.
I saw Riya taken aback by the hug. I immediately got up from my seat to go towards Riya, but that's when I saw some changes in her face. She hesitantly hugged her siblings back, closing her eyes and feeling their love and warmth. I was so happy to see this, and suddenly, Riya hugged them very tightly and started to cry. I rushed to call the nurse, thinking that Riya was having another panic attack. The nurse came, and before I could do anything, she held me back and said, "Sir, let her cry."
I was shocked by her statement, and seeing my confusion, the nurse explained, "Sir, she is letting out the emotions that she has bottled up inside her. So I suggest you let her vent out her feelings."
