Heeseung's pov

A sea of students were rushing to leave campus, heading straight for the exit. Jay and Jungwon walked alongside me. We just exited the doors when I heard Jungwon's name being called from afar.

The three of us turned around to see Sohyun running up to us, or to Jungwon specifically. She stopped in front of us, panting.

"Hey, could I talk to you for a moment? Alone?"
She asked breathlessly.

Jungwon and he nodded. He looked back at Jay and I, his eyes telling us to give them some privacy. We abided and stood further away to wait for him.

Sohyun had been avoiding me undoubtedly. We had resumed our language of silence which I was honestly upset about. Ever since I told her off, she did not answer any questions I asked or replied to my texts.

Was I that rude?

My eyes shifted to the pair. Sohyun was fidgeting with her fingers and was telling Jungwon something, seeming hopeful for his answer. However, Jungwon started to rub his nape and I could see the thick awkward air surrounding them from all the way here.

He told her something, and the colour suddenly drained from her face, mouth agape. I diverted my gaze to Naeun who just exited the school, going up to her boyfriend.

She wrapped her arms around Jungwon, not forgetting to press a kiss on his cheek. Sohyun was as shocked as ever, backing away from them and excusing herself. She ran past me and out of the school gates, pulling her bottom lip into her mouth. She looked humiliated.

I wanted to go after her, but my conscience made me stay rooted to the ground. Jungwon and Naeun then came toward us.

"What happened to Sohyun?"
I asked Jungwon.

"She um confessed her feelings for me. I didn't know she felt that way because I thought she liked you. Whatever, I have Naeun"
Jungwon put an arm around his new girlfriend.

"My sister? Liking you?? That's the joke of the century"
Jay laughed.

I've never had to control my mouth with such force before. If I was alone, I would've knocked some sense into Jungwon with my own fist.

How blind could he be?

(9pm)

I was over at Jay's house playing a game while he was on his computer working on some history project he had. Strangely, Sohyun wasn't home. She would have come down for dinner earlier but she didn't. It's unusual for her to be out this late, but I tried not to overthink it.

Seconds passed, and Jay got a call. It was Sohyun. He put it on speaker mode so I could also listen in to what she was saying.

"Jongseong, Jayy, helloo"
She dragged her words.

"Hi? Why do you sound like that?"
He asked.

"Can you pick meee up? My dear brother, pretty pleasee?"
She asked again in that sluggish tone.

She was drunk, wasn't she?

"What the f*ck? Stop talking like that to me"
Jay said, disgusted.

"Pick me up up up! Up above the world so high, like a diamond in-"
Her broken melody was interrupted.

"I can't. I have to finish the history project. It's due at midnight. I can send Hee to go get you though"
Jay said.

My ears perked up when my name was mentioned in the conversation.

"Ugh, why himm? He's so mean to me! Ohh but he's a bit handsome...just a bit"
She giggled, completely unaware that I'm listening to everything.
