Opals pov

THE TOWN WAS IN AN absolutely devastating state. The sight of the destroyed buildings broke something in me.

"This is horrible," I muttered, bringing my hands to my mouth. The funding building was completely crushed. The bombing I heard sounded only like one, but there were multiple.

I had to find a new route to the hospital, I do not doubt that the people who did this to Alania would kill me.

I looked around the area I was in, I was by the carpentry, it seemed to be the only building that was somewhat holding up, it looked pretty smashed but it seemed alright enough to rebuild.

I run towards the shop, hiding behind the cracked wall, I go to step out to dash back and forth the buildings but the steps of heavy shoes make me freeze in my step.

I suck in a breath and bring my hand over my mouth, in an attempt to silence my breathing. It sounded like boots..? I peek from the corner to see Alanian troops dragging a mother and child to a dark black carriage that had no windows?!

"This is what happens when you disobey the laws of your country, when you try to illegally enter the world of royal and kingdomship." One spoke roughly, pushing the mother in the carriage roughly.

Illegally? They allowed people to enter the kingdoms, I'm sure everyone has seen the news on their pods.

She let out a sound of pain as she hit the carriage floor. The child was quick to climb in beside his mother.

What were they doing?! There was no such law intact? People living in Xazenthlieth were free to travel, that's what made the country so free, I suppose.

Moo Moo peeked his head out of the satchel a bit, I eased his head back in and shook my head. He listened and stayed hidden.

"What laws do you speak of!? This country has never been free! It's just without an element! Without element it makes us look weak, that's the exact reason we have no King or Queen!" The woman yelled as tears poured down her face.

One of the soldiers took his bat and hit her with it, she let out a horrible cry, one that held pain like no other.

I winced and looked away.

The noises of her being beaten ruthlessly made me sick to my stomach. I look once more in hope to see that she is still alive but I catch a glimpse of the hospital behind the big business buildings.

I look back at the Alania troop before sneakily making my way behind buildings.

I was now behind a pharmacy, still too close to them.
