Opal's pov

MY BODY ACHED FURIOUSLY, I tried to move my legs but they felt heavy, so heavy. Why was I always waking up worse than I was? I wanted to see Ambia I was tired of being in bed! I was sick of lazing around!

I whimpered at the feeling of something cold and wet against my forehead, it was a cloth of some sort. I reached up and grabbed it, throwing it away from me.

I looked back to see the same wings on my back, I sighed longingly. Why did this have to happen to me? I'm like big time fucked! I balled my fist up, punching the blankets.

I looked around the room.

My jaw dropped. It was stunning! Was I in the palace? The last thing I remembered seeing was the kings.

The thought of them left a strange taste in my mouth. I guess they decided to keep me here so I wouldn't disturb the people of Mystaline.

It was never my intention to be a menace, I was only protecting myself. I wasn't in the wrong, was I? Well, stabbing Jesse wasn't okay, but Halen deserved all the hate.

I felt myself get angry thinking about those fools.

A woman came in, she was green looking just like Halen. Her antennas raised and she gave me a bright smile. She was carrying clothing in her arms.

I raised a brow, watching her trot towards me.

"Let's get you changed up! The kings have recommended you to be changed, your clothes are drenched in sweat."

"Uhm, okay." I nodded, wincing as I tried to get out of bed. "Oh please! Don't strain yourself!" She waved her hands around frantically.

Jesse walked into the bedroom, he didn't have his medical clothing on. I felt a wave of guilt wash over me and I ducked my head, looking at my lap.

"This is Jesse! He's the royal physician. He was assigned to you on purpose because our elders are a bit worried about you and want the best of the best watching over you!" The woman sounded so sweet and nice in such a moment of pure awkwardness.

Jesses did not look amused one bit. He helped me up, carrying me bridal style. "I could be home with my husband, you know? But I have to cater to someone who nearly tried to kill me."

He opened the door of the bedroom, we were now in the halls of the palace. Which I must say was breathtaking.

I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. "It was a pencil." I looked at him with a pointed brow. He scoffed, "Yes because that makes it any better? I'd like an apology."
