Opal's pov
I RAN FAR AWAY, THEY chased me but eventually, I escaped their view and I was full-on sprinting. I bumped into people on accident letting out stuttered apologies, thunder cracked in the sky and before I knew it I was lost in the forest with rain pouring down on me.
I brought my hands in my head.
Over pointe shoes.
Fucking pathetic.
I didn't expect to be triggered in that way... I don't know why I ran. They were the people I trusted the most excluding Ambia and Bee.
My socks were soaked causing me to slip in my shoes every now and then as I ventured through the forest. The rain got harder and lightning cracked in the sky making me duck.
I looked around frantically hoping there was shelter somewhere. I came under a tree which slightly covered me from the downpour I looked around, squinting, it was almost white, how long had I been running?
I sat down under the tree, resting my head on it. My legs burned horribly, if I were to walk another step I was sure I would collapse.
I grunted in discomfort as I moved my legs trying to get comfortable. My shirt clung to my body making me squirm.
I should've just accepted the shoes! What made me run? That was so stupid of me I'm so stupid! The flowers in my hair fell as the wind power increased.
My wings went damp, it was different, rainwater affected my wings but bath water didn't. I tried to make my wings flutter but they only felt weighted down.
Exhaustion fell over me and I couldn't breathe, I was panicking but I couldn't register it.
"Opal..." an eerie voice called out to me causing my panic to spike even more. I came to my feet quickly and looked around for the thousandth time.
"Opal! You're free~ you know that right?"
Thunder cracked.
My Adam's apple bobbed up and down as I tried to find my breath, I clutched my soaking wet shirt tightly and ran.
I heard a voice, it was clearer than day, It was like it was behind me. My food got caught in a vine and I fell face down.
Stones pierced my face and all I tasted was metal. I held my jaw and groaned looking up.
I attempted to get up but the wind pushed me, I got up but fell back down, my legs wouldn't move! I fell into a rather big puddle of mud.
