Opal's pov
I HADN'T SLEPT ALL NIGHT, I stayed balled up in the silky blankets of the guest room I had woken up in. I stared at nothing the whole time.
I was conflicted with myself, why wasn't I asking any more questions? Why wasn't I guarding myself against anyone that came towards me? Had I felt safe in this new dimension...? World...? What would I do if the troops came here and demolished everything? I have yet to meet up with Ambia and Bee seemed non-existent at the moment.
Moo Moo always slept by me at night but I never saw him, so as I stayed up looking out the window from bed, it wasn't the moon but I guess it was something similar to the moon.
I looked at Moon 2.0, I mean truly that was the only name I could come up for it at the time.
I couldn't let myself feel safe, ever. I don't think I'd ever feel safe again. I know people had it worse than me, I was one of the lucky ones but I couldn't shake the feeling of constant fear of whoever approached me.
My immediate reaction was to fight because if I didn't fight in my mind I would be dead. I guess that's how I always thought. Mentally, on the ice. Challenging myself to land the right axel or lutz. I was always fighting myself, now it was literal. It was life or death on the ice, I was already dead on the ice but now I'm alive, still fighting.
I leaned my head back on the headboard and grumbled.
I need a drink.
I spent the whole night staring at the walls, when the sun invited its way into the bedroom I knew for a fact that something was wrong with me.
I mean...something has always been wrong with me.
The bedroom door opened and a servant jumped, holding her chest for a second, startled. "Oh my! An early bird I see!
I nodded, although I got little to no rest whatsoever. "I was ordered by the kings to help you find your way out! You're being assigned a home." She clapped her hands excitedly.
I eyed the clothing in her arms, it seemed to be what everyone else wore around the village but with a jewel necklace attached to it.
Creepy.
I took the clothing and waited until she left to change. The clothes I had were different. The back of the blouse was cut out for my wings and it seemed more comfortable than the shirts the villagers wore, it also had a neckpiece to it that the necklace was sewn into.
It looked like I had a collar on!
I slipped on the flowy trousers and let out a small hum. These were probably the most comfortable trousers I've had on in my life.
