-The Poor and The Wealthy-
You were a wealthy girl, living in a comfortable home and had all the money you needed to survive. You were fortunate enough to have nice dresses of all different colors, hair curlers, makeup, anything you could imagine.
You often went out and about to buy groceries and buy a paper every so often. Your father was always at work and your mother was always cleaning and told you to go get what she needed from stores.
You had a great, perfect life. Besides the fact that your father always yelled at you and wanted you to get a wealthy boyfriend and marry him for the benefit of the family. Your mother always told you to focus on someone you truly loved. You always listened to your mother.
One day, you were walking on the streets, multiple bags in your hands, struggling to carry them all, when two boys came up to you.
"Ey perty lady." One grinned, you could tell neither of them had good intentions. "You'se real sweet lookin'" The other added, both were getting uncomfortably close.
"Excuse me. I need to get through here." You continued trying to walk past them but they wouldn't let you. "You're goin' no where." One smiled evilishly, one put their hands on your waist and hoisted you up onto their shoulder.
"LET GO OF ME!!" You screamed, kicking, dropping all of your groceries you worked so hard to get. You were protesting as they ran with you in their arms. Until you heard a voice.
"Ey, Morris, that aint nice." The voice spoke, you didn't have much information because it was behind you.
"Kelly, mind your damn business." The other man who remained unnamed spoke up, you could hear the anger in his voice.
"Let me down!" You screamed once more, kicking even harder.
"Now, Morris. Let the lady down." The boy continued, which the man now known as Morris refused to comply, refusing to let go of you. In fact he tightened his grip on you.
First second you heard a thud and yelling, the next you were on the ground. You had landed in mud and ruined your favorite white dress.
"Ugh!" You exclaimed as you looked at your mud covered dress, what used to be a pristine and pure white was now a shit shade of brown. How your mother was going to kill you.
"'M sorry, doll. Had to soak em." The boy you presumed who was talking to the two men who had attempted to kidnap you, leaned over you and reached out one of his hands for you to take.
You looked at it skeptically but eventually took his hand and he pulled you up with ease. "Pleasure to meet ya'. Names Jack. Jack Kelly." He smiled a very charming smile. So thats why the man called him Kelly. "Sorry we'se couldn't meet in a betta' situation." He continued, bowing slightly and kissing your knuckles.
"Ah.. I'm Y/n. Y/n L/n." You introduced yourself, but you were clear distracted by the mess of you're dress. The dress had small tears and rips along with it being covered in mud.
"Sorry 'bout the dress.." He smiled sheepishly, putting your hand down and rubbing the back of his neck, "I'se cant do much besides walk ya home. If you'd like." He offered, in which you shook your head. "I have to go retrieve the groceries those damn men made me drop. I simply cant go home without them."
Jack nodded, "I'de be honored if I'se could help a perty lady such as ya'self." You giggled, placing a hand over your mouth, smiling brightly. "I would appreciate the help."
You two were walking down the street, chatting it up, until you heard a yell.
"Y/N M/N L/N!!" You froze at the voice of your father, turning around slowly to see him approaching in a fuming manner. Jack turned around too, to see the man who just yelled your full name. "Who's this nut job?" He muttered to you, leaning over to whisper.
"My father..." You responded sheepishly, slightly shrinking and bowing your head as your father stormed up to you.
"Y/N! What are you doing! You were supposed to be home an hour ago! And what are you doing with this street rat?!" He yelled, making you sink down slightly as your father gave you an earful.
"Ey, sir. She almost gots kidnapped. I saved 'er. Ya welcome." Jack said smugly, you looked at him with the most horrified look ever. No way he just said that to a man like your father. Your father was powerful and could land this kid in jail.
"Excuse me?" Your father looked at him, infuriated. "Father! He didn't mean it like that! He is saying he saved me from two horrible men who were trying to kidnap me! He is also so kind to offer to help me with groceries and walk me home!" You explained quickly, trying to save both of your asses.
Your father looked at you skeptically, narrowing his eyes and furrowing his brows. "Hm. In that case. Bring him home for dinner." Your father soon walked away leaving you two.
"Ya' fadda is a real jerk wad, eh?" Jack murmured, you two neared the place where you dropped the groceries and thank god they were still there. "Oh! Here they are!" You picked them up and Jack also took a few, helping you out.
The sun was starting to set as you two had gotten back to your house. Walking in, Jack seemed a bit worried? Or more aware. He clearly felt on edge.
"Something wrong?" You tilted your head as you approached the kitchen and put down the groceries where your mother greeted you. Jack shook his head.
"My! Y/n! What happened to your dress?!" She exclaimed picking the fabric up in her hands and examining it. You explained the whole thing to her quickly in a summery.
"Why thank you young man for helping my daughter." Your mother bowed slightly to him. "Please, join us for dinner." She smiled, Jack looked at you a bit worried but you just smiled at him, you took his hand and squeezed it before heading for the dinner table where your father was waiting.
"So. Whats your name young man?" Your father piped up, raising an eyebrow as he put a napkin on his lap, you all did and Jack followed suit so he didn't seem different.
"Uhm. Jack Kelly... sir." He hesitated at the last part trying to keep manners at this clearly powerful families dinner.
Your father hummed in amusement, raising his brows, "So. Why'd ya save my daughter?"
"Because it's the rights thing to do.. also you'se daughter here is quite beautiful." Your father narrowed his eyes. "Well. You are allowed to date my daughter if that is your wish." Your father shrugged, cutting and biting his food.
Your face flared into a deep blush, "Father I'm sure that is not his intentions!" You dismissed. You noticed Jacks face was blushing as well.
"Uh-" Your mother smiled, "How adorable! You two would be great together!" You looked at Jack and he looked back at you, you could see a small grin on his face. "I'se wouldn't mind.." He shrugged, taking your hand into his under the table and squeezing it sweetly.
"I- I guess I wouldn't either.."
