Chapter 10 ~ confirmation ~

Nakhun knocked on the door of Raz's office for the second time that day, he was curious about what the alpha wanted him to see. In the short time he had known him, he could tell that he was a good man, a go-getter, someone who got things done.

"Nakhun thank you for coming back" Raz said after getting up to open the door.

"no problem alpha Raz, it sounded quite urgent so I rushed over" Nakhun said.

"mmm, please come and look at this and tell me what you think" Raz said, he didn't tell Nakhun about the man, he wanted to witness his first response.

Oon was still in Raz's office and watched as Nakhun sat at Raz's desk then Raz rotated his computer screen so that Nakhun could watch the cctv footage then he pressed play.

Raz watched Nakhun's expression change from curiosity to shocked recognition then he stared at the screen long after the footage ended.

"I don't believe it" Nakhun whispered to himself.

"what are your thoughts?" Raz asked him.

"that's him, that's Tulsi, you have successfully proven that the man your mate, the man we know as Pon is the same Pon who died right outside our pack house, I don't believe it, I mean I do but ... speculating is one thing but actually seeing it, seeing him again ..."

"thank you for confirming his identity Nakhun" Raz said"

"why the hell didn't we think of doing this?" Nakhun said mostly to himself.

"without sounding like an asshole, maybe Pon wasn't that important to you?" Raz suggested.

"I understand what you're saying but maybe deep down we were afraid of what we would discover, you know the saying about ignorance being bliss. Please understand that it wasn't an easy time for any of us and you've seen how Jensen has been affected, he is racked by guilt"

"yeah, I saw that this morning, I'm sorry"

"you know he was on medication and he had to take something to help him sleep, that first day that your Pon turned up on our land, Jensen knew straight away that it was his friend but none of us really believed him, we just thought it was a coincidence but not Jensen, he saw the signs and knew"

"is that why he's so protective of him?" Raz asked Nakhun.

"I guess it is, don't misunderstand, he loves Duane with his whole being but Pon was like a brother to him, Jensen was sent away to human schools from a very young age and Pon was drawn to him almost immediately, he protected him and stood by his side, I can kind of understand how he felt betrayed that day when Jensen stood between him and Duane"

"but why couldn't Tulsi give the guy a break?"

"I guess he knew something we didn't, he is the son of a god after all and Pon was a man scorned, to quote Tulsi himself, Pon was a loose cannon but it seems that Tulsi came through and managed to give him a second chance" Nakhun said.

"mmm" Raz replied.

"so what happens next?" Nakhun asked.

"next we find out where the body came from, hopefully we will find a name" Raz said.

"how about you, how are you holding up?" Nakhun asked him.

"I met Pon as he is now, it makes no difference to me ... at the end of the day the moon goddess paired us and that still stands, I love him, even more so after getting to know him a little better" Raz replied glancing down at the note books on his desk.

"can I tell my family?" Nakhun asked, he didn't like keeping secrets from his family and Jensen might find peace if he knew the truth.

"I don't see why not as long as it's just the people who were present this morning" Raz said.
