June 22nd
1:30 AMThe party ended at around 1:00 in the morning. I didn't see Bronny anymore for the rest of the night but that's probably because I spent the entire night in the garden. The scenery was just too beautiful for me to leave.
I was able to find Angeline and thankfully she was just a little tipsy and not fully drunk. We said our goodbyes to everyone, hopped in the car, and went back home.
"Best night ever!!" Angeline exclaimed while yawning. "Did you have fun, Soph?"
"I did." I replied. "You know Bronny asked me out on a date?"
Angeline was ready to drift off to sleep but her eyes widened and she sat up quickly when she heard this.
"What?? Girl, are you freaking serious??!"
"Yes..." I said blushing. "He is also helping me find some internships this summer."
"Wow, that's so crazy and amazing!" she said hugging me tight. "And this is the same girl that said that she couldn't pull Bronny James."
I rolled my eyes and giggled, "Yeah, yeah. I was wrong."
"So, when's the date?"
"Not sure yet. He said he's going to be busy this week celebrating the Lakers win. He told me to let him know afterwards."
"Okay, okay. When you do, let me know so I can find you the perfect outfit!"
"I will." I laughed.
We both shut our eyes and enjoyed the rest of the ride home.
A WEEK LATER...
June 29th
11:00 AMA week had passed since I spoke to Bronny at the party. By now, the celebrations in Los Angeles were starting to die down and I felt like this would be the perfect time to text him my availability. But I was nervous. What if he changed his mind? What if he already forgot who I was? What if he didn't save my number? I was freaking out and decided to just go downstairs to eat some ice cream to calm my anxiety.
When I walked downstairs, Angeline was sitting at the kitchen island eating her breakfast.
"Hey, Soph. You good?"
"Perfectly fine." I said placing my bowl of ice cream on the table. "Why?"
"Well, normally you don't eat ice cream for breakfast and when you do, it probably means you're anxious or stressed. So, what happened?"
Ugh, she knows me too well. It's impossible for me to hide anything from her.
"Nah, it's just Bronny..."
"You still haven't texted him yet??"
"No, I'm scared."
"Scared of what?"
"What if he forgot who I am already? Or what if he didn't save my number?"
