Sophia's POV:

The morning sunlight streamed through the blinds as I sat at my desk, trying to focus on my weekly assignments. My statistics notebook sat open, but my mind kept wandering.

Bronny had called me earlier to say that he landed in San Antonio. "I'll call you after practice," he'd said, and it was comforting to know he was thinking of me even with everything going on.

I sighed, staring blankly at the screen of my laptop. The dorm was too quiet, even with my study music on in the background. My thoughts were louder than I wanted them to be. That's when the door opened, and Angeline strolled in.

I turned to see her glowing—like literally glowing. Her skin was radiant, her hair had this effortless shine, and she had this relaxed, blissful look on her face. She looked like she'd spent the night at a five-star resort instead of... well, wherever she and Juju ended up.

"Well now, you look like someone who had a really good night," I teased, turning around to face her

"Well now, you look like someone who had a really good night," I teased, turning around to face her.

Angeline smirked, dropping her bag onto her bed. "What can I say? I slept great."

I raised an eyebrow. "Slept, huh? That's what we're calling it now?"

She laughed, taking off her glasses. "Okay, maybe not just slept."

"Clearly," I said, gesturing to her. "Juju must've been eating you clean because..."

Angeline threw her pillow at me. "Shut up!" she said while blushing. "You're the one who insisted on walking in last night unannounced."

"Not my fault! You didn't exactly text me to warn me you'd have company."

"I didn't know you were coming back last night. You'd spent days at Bronny's apartment and I thought I had last night free."

"Fair point," I admitted. "But, what else was I supposed to do? Freak out? I was mostly surprised. I didn't even know you were seeing Juju Watkins."

Angeline gave me a sheepish smile. "Yeah, we've been keeping it lowkey. She's pretty private about her personal life, and, well, so am I."

"And there's nothing wrong with that," I said with a chuckle. "I always knew you were bisexual, but I kind of thought you'd end up with a guy."

She grinned. "Yeah, a lot of people think that. But Judea's different. She's beautiful, kind, funny, and just... easy to be around. She's been through a lot with basketball and the spotlight, so she gets it, you know?"
